| A lot of people are putting "The Electric Age" in their top-10's. It is a good album, but when I want to Listen to Overkill, I personally reach for "Ironbound" every time. I think that is whats holding it back from my personal top-10. | |

Biggest Disappointment : Running Wild - Shadowmaker (bland, lifeless crap)
[/img] Well, Shadowmaker might not be the best album of 2012, but it's still a fine album overall, and the one I enjoyed the most from the band (if there's actually still a band and it's not Rolf solo) since The Rivalry. i agree. I think it is a grower. I have not gotten my list together. I still need to listen to all the releases from this year again before I do my list. _________________

| That new Dokken is really growing on me. Much like the latest Great White, I thought it was alright the first listen but then I found myself continuing to play it. I love those growers that sneak up on you like that. | |

| Ideally, I'd like to pick up both the new Soundgarden and Black Country Communion before I attempt such a list, but I know Van Halen and LA Guns will be in there somewhere. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. The vocals in particular are recorded or mixed or something terribly wrong. I really like the Sacrificed - III, the production is rough, sure, but for me that adds to the appeal. I actually like the fact that it is not all glossy and polished. The one downside is Eli's voice, there is some sort of effect or compression or something that was used and it is detrimental to the whole product. My big disappointment this year is the Teramaze album. I just can't seem to get in to it, and I have really tried to like it. | |

The vocals are just all mashed together and you can't understand a word he says. With soaring power metal vocals like that, you really want to be singing along, but it all sounds mumbled. Obviously it's not, it's a recording flaw, or mixing issue or something. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| A lot of people have mentioned the great thrash releases. While they aren't in my top 10, that in no means indicates dissatisfaction with them. I love those and in order I rank them:
Kreator-Phantom Antichrist Testament-Dark Roots Of The Earth Overkill-The Electric Age Bonded By Blood-The Aftermath
Haven't got the new Tourniquet, despite loving the band, I just haven't been compelled to get it. Testament is my overall favorite thrash band and Dark Roots is the best since Low (my #3 album), however, Phantom Antichrist is the most melodic, catchy of the those four 2012 thrash releases. Coma Of Souls is one of my top thrash albums, but PA gets very close.
