Out of the bonus tracks the Best Buy exclusive (Naivete In Black) is easily the best.
I also like Methademic, the other two are "okay".
I do understand why these songs weren't chosen though, they don't really fit the vibe of the rest of the material on the album. Good tunes, but I still think they chose correctly which tracks went on the actual record.

Naivete In Black is fantastic. Why was this not put on the album?

The album is already 53 minutes long which is plenty as far as I'm concerned. I also don't think those faster tracks (N.I.B. and Methademic) really match the vibe of the album as a whole.
They had more good songs than they needed, that's good news as far as I'm concerned.

My brother-in-law once took a whole handful of bengay and rubbed it over his nether regions (don't ask me what possessed him to do so). The way he described the sensation is shockingly similar to what Candlemass is apparently suffering from.

Let alone, why was it a specific retailer bonus track? I had to buy the album twice cause of it.

I'll say it again...the digital age has negated the need for bonus tracks...just let the album be the album in all territories...sheesh.

Good point. Now I'm scratching my head as to why I purchased the deluxe edition in the first place...
As for the bonus tracks, to be honest I haven't heard them all the way through (nor NIB) but what I have heard is slightly more akin to Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die. So yeah, not very much in the same spirit as the original songs.
I think "Loner" is quite fun. Takes me back to spinning their debut on my uncle's turntable in his wood panel cigar room with a wet bar.

Awesome track!!!! My initial impression is that the song could have easily been a Dio era Sabbath track

For once, you and I agree completely, I found myself imagining what it would sound like with Ronnie singing, this never came close to happening with any of the other tracks.

Just picked this up today. What I've heard so far is solid. Ozzy is Ozzy. Honestly, he sounds better than I expected.

They used the song "End Of The Beginning" during the closing credits of "This Is The End", sounded awesome cranking out of the theater surround system.

I just picked this up today and, Wow! This album is really amazing to my ears. I went back and listened to the original Sabbath album and it's just amazing at how they were able to carry over some of that same sound to 13. It's distinctly Ozzy era Sabbath and I love it! This is so far my favorite of 2013. It's going to be hard to knock out of my #1 spot for the year, I think. The only band that might is Havok. I'm expecting big things from their new one.

Not to take away from the new album but I thought I would share this in our 'official' Sabbath thread:
This was my first Black Sabbath album. It is a compilation released in 1991 by Castle Communications Australia. The booklet has a brief history of Sabbath's career and some cool pics of Ozzy and Tony from around the late 80s early 90s. The compilation focuses primarily on the first 5 Sabbath albums. It skips Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die altogether, which is a shame.
There's a total of 15 tracks on here with 2 - 3 cuts from each of Sabbath's first 5 albums. Some notable tracks are missing however - Black Sabbath, N.I.B., Children of the Grave, Iron Man, A National Acrobat... but that is what the albums are for hehe
In any case, this album hold fond memories for me. I remember going to the record store with my dad and buying this. He bought a bunch of Beatles albums and I got this. I hadn't heard much of Sabbath at the time - my only encounter had been with Paranoid. I still remember going to that store - I remember they had a lot of rare Alice Cooper and KISS live bootlegs from the 70s. I miss those days.
Anyhow, we went back to the car and put this album on and had a totally rockin time. It was summer time and I was on my school holidays so we drove all around listening to Sabbath. Great memories.

I haven't even been able to get to the second disc yet out of love and play for the proper album. Easy pick at this stage for Album Of The Year.

Billboard is predicting "13" will debut at #1 with approximately 125,000 copies sold in the first week.

Same here. I had it for 5 days before I got around to listening to disc 2.
I like them just as well, but I think they were right in keeping them off the original album. It could've dragged on too long like some many others albums tend to do these days. Definalty worth picking them up though. The bonus songs are good, not throwaway tracks.

Packaging question: I've seen the deluxe version packaging. Is the stand version in a jewel case or digi? What about the Best Buy version?
