| Some news has come out via Metal Injection regarding the new album.
15 songs are being recorded. 12 of them will make the "album", the remaining 3 will be released on various special editions (to piss off the fans).
Iommi has already completed all his guitar parts. The stand-in for Bill has also completed drum tracks.
Geezer is writing all the lyrics.
They are currently tracking bass & vocals in Malibu.
The first single is called "God Is Dead" (sure to be a popular title here at HOM)
Rick Rubin is collecting a producer credit, he's out back somewhere freebasing coke and will swoop in at the last minute and ruin the album in the mix.

| Obviously looking forward to this, but I'm skeptical as to what Ozzy will sound like and is Tommy doing the drums as of this moment?
I'm confident Tony will deliver delicious riffs so there is no worry there.
If figures they will release spcial editions. Prolly one for Best Buy, one for Itunes, and one for some other store.

Are we to assume it's the same ass-clown playing on the album that played with them live over the summer? - Quote :

My prediction is "multi-tracked and digitally processed out the wazzoo". _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| No official word has been give about the drum tracks, the article assumes it is Tommy Clueless...er...Clufetos who played the couple dates with the band this year.

O yeah, and if Bill Ward was playing drums (duh!) based on his work with ZZ Top, he will have Sabbath sounding like the Backstreet Boys. _________________

http://www.metalinjection.net/exclusive-2/exclusive-black-sabbath-in-the-recording-studio-15-new-songs-written yep. It is simply the name of a confirmed song. But props to original post for his insightful take on how 'some' of us react. _________________

I was just going off experience, when I posted the song "The Devil's Orchard" awhile back I ended up hearing crap about the line "God Is Dead" in the chorus. Sorry I indicated it was a single, I only skimmed the article before the original post. I was also attempting humor but that evidently failed. |

| On the note of humor, I always find it funny when various random posters on blabbermouth say stuff like "No Bill Ward = No Black Sabbath".
It seems to be a trend now - usually goes like "No Bill Ward = No Death Metal"
It is retarded but funny at the same time

Just to clarify the "God is Dead" idea to all all those who are offended or misunderstand it, I do believe it comes from Nietzsche who wrote "God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him...." which was his way of saying that God is dead to those who don't believe in Him, not that He actually is dead. My guess is that is what Opeth and Sabbath are going for that and people need to calm down because it's a true statement for anyone who takes that position in life. With that being said, of course I can't wait to hear this material.

Sounds good though. Was wondering what the status of this album was these days. Hadn't heard anything in a long time.

| In case anyone was getting their hopes up for Bill's return, Tony would like to burst your bubble... - Quote :
- Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi says he can’t see Bill Ward returning to the band.
The drummer withdrew from the original lineup reunion in February, saying he hadn’t been offered a contract he regarded as “signable”. They proceeded to work with Tommy Clufetos, sticksman with Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band, but Ward recently said he’d like to be part of Sabbath’s future. Now Iommi reveals he thinks that’s unlikely. The axeman tells Blairing Out: “We’ll always have a heart for Bill – but I think it’s gone past that now. It’s gone on so long that I don’t see it happening at the moment. Maybe at some point we might do it.”
In the meantime he’s focusing on recording Sabbath’s first album with Osbourne since 1979, and says the singer got his facts wrong about how far they’ve got. It had been reported that Iommi had recorded all his guitar parts, but he explains: “That’s wrong. When Ozzy said it I think he meant we recorded them at my house first, just as demos. “Now we’re doing them for real. We’re about six tracks in at the moment.” The band haven’t revealed the album’s title and the guitar icon says he can’t pick any favourite tracks just yet. He describes producer Rick Rubin as a “vibe merchant.” _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
