I'm so surprised, that a "pretend Kiss", with stand-ins for Ace & Peter didn't light the charts on fire. They should have stopped after that reunion tour in 2000.
I think they should be jumping up and down for joy that they sold 450,000 copies, that's about double what I guessed they would sell.
I was a proud member of the Kiss Army (when I was 7), a begrudging fan from 1979 until around 1985, then basically embarrassed to admit I ever listened to them since.
I still admire their business model, damn impressive. But they hit their musical peak in 1975.
Haters wanna hate.
Ace is debatable because he's proven he can still write good music but who wants to see Peter Criss in any form in this day and age? I certainly don't want to see him in KISS. Other than Bruce Kulick, there's really no other options I want to see as far as band mates go. This line-up is strong and there probably wouldn't even be a new album if Ace & Peter were still in the band and they're already talking about a follow up. It sucks that they won't let Tommy & Eric have their own identities though.

I wouldn't say I'm a "hater"...more of a "grew out of it". (25 years ago)

I actually wouldn't mind them doing "The Elder" in its entirety. I doubt they'd sell enough tickets to merit an entire tour but who knows, if they picked a mid-size theatre someplace and did it as a one-off, it'd probably sell out one show. Shoot it for a DVD and give them something different to pimp other than the semi-annual live-album-of-greatest-hits-plus-two-token-songs-from-the-new-album set list.

That sounds way more marketable, thumbs up.

Anybody remember the "KISS Radio" they used to advertise on TV all the time in the 70's?
I wanted one, but my Mother said "it looks like a cheap piece of sh*t, I'm not paying for that!"

Yea, that sounds more feasible.

Got his e-mail address? I'll shoot the idea to him.
What the hell, y'know, 2011 will be the 30th anniversary of the release of ELDER, it might be a fun thing for them to do just to get all the cult Star Trek geek fans of the album off their backs and bury the album once and for all. Just imagine at the conclusion of "I," Gene strutting up to the mike and saying "OK, THERE, WE DID IT! Are you @#$%ing happy now?"

If Gene thought it was a moneymaker he would have done it already.

Here ya go...watch it quick before Gene has the video pulled from YouTube.
Not much different than any other KISS performance you've seen in the last 10 or 15 years. Maybe that "Music From The Elder" idea ain't so bad afterall.

Watched the down under "Kissteria" special on A&E last night. Believe it or not ? The wife joined me and she enjoyed it as well. Interesting lil bit of TV and funny in some places.

I watched it too, some funny stuff in there. I started to feel really sorry for Doc McGhee about halfway thru the show, they were really making that guy jump thru hoops

Just read an article about the Sonic Boom tour on Yahoo Music where Paul said the next album should be out sometime in 2011!
