Yeah, his voice does sound sort of shot. Its as if he had just experienced laryngitis...

His voice is shot.

What happened to this guy?
Danzig sounded great on that covers album "Skeletons" and that was only 2 years ago.
For a guy that has been so picky during his life about what gets released, he let this out? Maybe his hearing is damaged and can't tell the difference?

The 2 songs I've heard from it didn't impress me. The music was ok, but his vocals sounded terrible.

I wasn't too impressed either but the last two songs I liked. There were points where his voice sounded really good especially with the proper production. I'm all for raw, unpolished recordings but Glenn coulda touched up the album somewhat at least.

I said it before, but I think Glenn needs a producer, an outside voice of reason. Rick Rubin was far from perfect, but he did bring out the best in Danzig on their earlier material. Whether it's cost or ego, Glenn needs to step back and let someone else in the studio during the recording and production. It doesn't need to be a one-man-show.

Worse than the production is that silly cartoon cover art. I do like the songs, even though Glenn does sound tired. I would agree he needs an outside producer. Not only for a fresh ear & perspective, but to help bring out his best in the studio. Say what you want about Rubin, but back in the day that's where he shined.

It's decent, but doubt I'll be buying it. The only Danzig stuff I really listen to anymore is Samhain and The Misfits.

Glenn is 5 foot 2 - and 62 years old.

His 'tone' has mellowed for sure.
At first, I thought it was an impersonator.
But after a few minutes, I accepted it. He writes great stuff.
Song also has that odd groove and unique touch of darkness,
Still that Elvis Presley Jim Morrison voice with Howlin Wolf lyrics.

Man I'm really sick of hearing how he sounds like Morrison, he sounds nothing like him!

Not to you perhaps... but to a lot of people he does. Myself included. Is he an exact copy? No. I can definitely hear the influence clearly though.

I think he sounds a lot like Morrison on "Son Of The Morning Star". Glenn a lot of times reminds me of Bill Medley.

I think he sounds like a cross between Morrison and Elvis.

Elvis for sure but I hear a lot of Bill Medley especially on "Sistinas".
