Watched The Dark Knight in anticipation of seeing the new one Sunday. I needed a refresher on what happened. Heath's Joker was delightful.

Classic Memphis Wrestling - Jerry Lawler vs Andy Kauffman
Man, does this bring back memories. I lived near Memphis when this all went down.

"Terminator: Salvation" (2009)
Fourth installment in the "Terminator" series takes us into the future, where the human resistance is about to launch a major offensive against Skynet, and a now-grown John Connor (Christian Bale) encounters a new kind of Terminator - one with a human soul.
Decent shoot'em/blow'em up that certainly isn't on par with the first two "T's" but was a definite improvement over "T3: Rise of the Machines."

Dude Love vs Stone Cold Steve Austin from Over The Edge in 98.
Reminded me of how much fun wrestling was when Austin was in his prime.

"The Island" (2005)
Sci-fi actioner from S.D.'s favorite director, Michael Bay, stars Ewan McGregor and Scarlett (yum!) Johanssen as pair of happy inhabitants in an idyllic secret facility... until they find out that they're clones, grown in a lab to serve as spare parts for people in the outside world. When they make an escape, mayhem ensues.
Overly long and overblown in an entertaining sort of way, this one starts out like an update of "Logan's Run" but then quickly becomes so over the top that it's ridiculous. But hey, that's Michael Bay all over.

Some good action scenes in an otherwise ridiculously moronic anti-film by Michael "I couldn't direct little kids to the bathroom" Bay.
A remake of Logan's Run is currently in the works btw.

Yeah, it started out pretty interesting but once McGregor and Johanssen discovered the "outside" world, it quickly devolved into the same ol' Michael Bay formula, i.e. "Chase scene, more chase scene, lotsa stuff crashes, lotsa stuff blows up, lather, rinse, repeat."

Is there really? I know there's been talk of it for years 'n' years but last I checked it hadn't been able to get off the ground yet. Bryan Singer (X-Men, Superman Returns, etc.) was supposedly involved w/it at one point.

Went to see The Dark Knight Rises yesterday. I enjoyed it, although I felt it went on for a touch too long. Part of it was the whole "theater experience" though. Sitting down at 2:30 and not getting out till 5:15 was a bit much.
It wrapped up the trilogy pretty nicely.

This is the one where Mick Foley get thrown off the top of the cage through a table then falls through the roof of the cage and has a chair smash him in the mouth knocking a tooth into his nostril.

I tried to like Benny Hill because my dad thinks the show is hilarious but I think it's way too slapsticky for me. Conversely, my dad tried to like Monty Python because I love it and he thinks it's dumb.

Come to think of it, there is very little slapstick in Benny Hill. Most of his sketches involve parodying commercials and mock interviews filled with sexual enuendo and puns.

People losing their pants, running around in fast motion tripping over their pants, etc is slapstick in my book. I think the reliance on inuendo and puns also helped fuel my distaste. There's very little cerebral in Benny Hill; unlike Monty Python which actually taught me things like who said "I think therefore I am" (Rene Descartes) and that Attilla the Hun was warring with the Visigoths.

Sure it doesn't teach you anything, but slapstick is still only a fraction of his comedy. Sure he wasn't high brow comedy but he was nowhere near as low brow as you seem to think he was. However, your mind is already made up and there is nothing I could do to change that. At least you like Monty Python .
