At least Joel and the Bots make it bearable. The Rocky The Flying Squirrel jokes never seemed to get old.

Finished Evolution.
Fun little movie. Sure the premise more than stretches believability but the various monsters are cool and there are some decent jokes.

I'm trying my best to go through them in order, although Netflix is a little short on classic DW episodes. I'm pretty sure I've seen Androids of Tara, but it's definitely possible I haven't.

"Super Mario Brothers" (1993)
I've always had a perverse interest in seeing this flick, since it's considered to be one of the worst films ever made. Imagine my surprise when I found the whole movie available on YouTube. So I watched it tonight and all I can say is...
Um....wow. What a mess.
This expensive turkey was (obviously) supposed to be based on the Nintendo game series, but after watching this mess I doubt that anybody involved in its production had even seen the game.
Mario (Bob Hoskins) and Luigi (John Leguizamo) are a pair of Brooklyn-based plumbers who meet a princess and get mixed up in a plot by inter-dimensional beings evolved from dinosaurs (?) led by Dennis Hopper (who must've lost a bet). Of course, the bad guys want to break through the dimensional wall to our Earth and take over.
Tons of pyrotechnics, some pretty neat creature effects and bizarre set designs that look like yard-sale castoffs from "Total Recall" and "Blade Runner," but the story is just one long series of "WTF?" moments strung together.
No wonder this thing tanked at the box office. "Super Mario Brothers" is too weird and bizarre for kids (the intended audience) and too nonsensical for grown-ups. This was the 90s equivalent of "Howard the Duck."

One of the few musicals I've watched and legitimately enjoyed. I watched it on Netflix, but the whole thing's available on YouTube. It's very funny and very charming... but also a bit tragic.
