Who knows how much time they had rehearse between recording the new album with Rick 'nodding off in producer's chair' Rubin, Iommi's cancer treatments and legal ramblings if they truly were trying to work things out with Bill Ward, I am sure picking Tommy Clufeto was a matter of convenience, he knew the tunes, was ready to play at a moments notice, plus he was already on Ozzy's payroll.

Plus he probably get great medical coverage from Ozzy, Inc.

I havn't read anything blaming him for the absence of Bill Ward, which is what you SEEM to be implying. I can critique his crappy playing and style all I want to. He isn't the drummer for the job IMHDO.
People are calling him names and saying he's a $h!++y drummer for no good reason OTHER than he's in Bill's seat. He can obviously play...and what would YOU do if you got asked to play for Black Sabbath? I'm just saying to cut the guy some slack.
My comments are strictly limilted to his flailing arms and stupid look behind the kit. And the underlying feeling that Sharon strong-armed him into the band when things with Bill couldn't be worked out. I cannot comment on his playing ability at this time.
She didn't have to "strong-arm" anything...Bill was refusing, he's Ozzy's drummer, simple side-step. For all her "questionable" activities, she's being a manager and looking out for Ozzy...setting a stipulation and sticking to it...what the other managers do with it is not her concern.

Look, Sharon could spend time feeding the homeless, sheltering puppies, building orphanages and out-doing Mother Teresa I'd still think she's a c*nt. And that's not a word I throw around lightly.

From all the reviews I have read, everybody called the performance awesome and expressed disappointment that it was not Bill Ward in the drummer's chair, but nothing really harsh was said about Tommy Clufeto , at least til I saw S.D. 's postings regarding what other folks have said who I am assuming where there at the actual concert.

My opinion has nothin to do with him sitting behind a kit on Sabbath's stage in their hometown. Lots of drummers can play..... it goes beyond rudiment and fill in regards to alot of bands. Swing, groove, and the feel in the time all apply to most Sabbath tunes and Tommy lacks all of these. He got the gig cause he knows somebody and was readily available at more than likely basic musiciian union wage. If I was in his shoes ? I'd a said yes. The only difference is that I learned Sabbath by playing along to the albums and remember the nuances and wouldn't be worried about how my braids looked swinging in the wind and my appendages would be used to keep time and do proper fills instaed of all that visual stuff. That works great for Ozzy and Stryper. Not so much in Sabbath, especially if you are focusing on the older 70's material.
Again...general statement.
In part yes, but I was pretty specific about Tommy's either inability or refusal to play the song's properly. To most, it wasn't wrong or noticed. To my ears, it was lacking and missed the mark. To prove my point, I could write out what Tommy played as opposed to what is on the albums, measure by measure. That in itself isn't all of my gripe. The technical aspect is small in comparison to the feeling and the timing.
and in closing, I suppose a general statement is better than a major one....as in major malfunction

I watched a couple of those Ozzy & Friends clips on-line and Ozzy sounds terrible. Even worse than usual. Especially on his own solo material. Just out of key and voice cracking constantly.

I haven't watched any of the Ozzy & Friends performances, but he sounded good with Sabbath a few weeks back.

The Sabbath stuff he sounds ok on. Well, passable by Ozzy's standards anyway. But his solo material, he struggles. Maybe the songs are in a higher register that he just can't hit anymore. Lemme see if I can find the clips I watched. Be right back...

^ Wow. That was pretty bad.
I noticed with the Sabbath gig at O2, Ozzy didn't move around the stage as much as he usually does, which could be why he sang quite well. I don't think he would've been able to hit the high notes in songs like 'Under the Sun' if he was prancing around while singing.
