That was a fun clip -I loved the Bent Brother shirt , though the album is not something I'd be rushing out to buy. Good to see Dee is realistic about what he's doing, and is willing to challenge himself.

That was fantastic! but then...
I am one of those schmucks that loves Broadway tunes, covers, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Brian Setzer Orchestra, Cole Porter and swing in general. I am definitely gonna buy this.

The album got a 5/6 rating in Scream Magazine... then again the reviewer is sort of a friend of the band.

I bought the album this morning, and I think that it is really well done. On that note however, I like the Northern Kings a little better. More of a Symphonic metal sound. This album is pure Dee Snider though. He knows what he does and he does it very well.

The album is actually pretty good.

Carpet Cleaners now? Ok. Better than more showtunes I guess.

He's doing commercials now purely for the artistic expression it allows him.

Perhaps the commercial work was used to fund the Broadway showtunes album. Money well spent.

What are some opinions on the Dee Snider Desperado project/album? I understand that some of the tracks wound up on the first Widowmaker album, but how does the rest of the album sound. I've got my eye on a copy of Desperado's Ace and wondering if it's worth the price.
Any thoughts?

I love it. It's well worth the money. Better than both Widowmaker albums, IMO.

So I'm a little confused here. Desperado recorded an album but it was shelved. It was out there as a bootleg then got an official release in 2006(?).
Is Bloodied But Unbowed the original title and bootleged version while Ace is the legit release? Is Ace even legit? Are the songs and tracklistings the same on both albums?

Bloodied... received a "limited CD release" in the late 90s on "Destroyer Records," which legend has it was actually Dee Snider himself. I dunno how true that is though. When it first appeared it was going for stoopid $$ so I never bought one. I finally downloaded it off a blogspot years later.
Ace is a legit issue of the Bloodied... album on Cleopatra Records, home of TheGeoff. I believe the track listing differs slightly from the Bloodied version, but I don't know for sure since I don't own it.

Track listing of Bloodied But Unbowed (13 songs):
"Hang 'Em High" - 4:51 "Gone Bad" - 3:44 "The Maverick" - 5:06 "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter" - 7:11 "Calling for You" - 4:54 "See You at Sunrise" - 5:53 "There's No Angels Here" - 4:54 "Made for Trouble" - 3:45 "Ride Thru the Storm" - 4:30 "Son of a Gun" - 5:34 "Emaheevol" - 4:25 "Easy Action" - 3:52 "Heart of Saturday Night" - 3:53
Track listing of Ace (11 songs): Hang 'Em High 04:50 Gone Bad 03:45 Run Wild Run Free (The Maverick) 05:06 The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter 07:11 Calling for You 04:55 See You at Sunrise 05:53 Theres No Angels Here 04:55 Made for Trouble 03:45 Ride Thru the Storm 04:31 Son of a Gun 05:34 Emaheevul
...so the Ace disc is missing "Easy Action" and "Heart of Saturday Night" for whatever reason.

Got it. Thanks.
I have a hopefully non-bootleg copy of Ace coming to me from ebay. Stinks that's it's missing those last 2 tracks, but I can live with it.
I read that 'Heart of Saturday Night' is a Tom Waites cover, so maybe Cleopatra couldn't get the rights on that one or something.

I have the original version. Bought it at an SMF concert years ago. So it was definitly a legit thing.

Dee's tacking on a few new songs to an "essential collection" coming soon...
Quote :
On the way in the spring of 2015 is 'Rock and Roll Ain't Dead -- Dee Snider Essentials 1983-2015', a new compilation that will feature music from all of Snider's projects over the years including Twisted Sister, Widowmaker, Desperado, Van Helsing's Curse and Dee Does Broadway. Also included in the collection are three brand new songs... Snider's first in over 20 years!
I'd like to see the actual track listing first, but I'd probably be interested in this. Dee usually delivers.
