I do 8-10 hours a day for a buck and I hate it! Oh well, you do what you gotta do.
As for Dee Snider, it sounds like he's doing something he enjoys and wants to do. More power to him. I wish I could make a living off of doing what I like to do rather than what I have to do.

I saw T.S. performing a Christmas tune on either "The Tonight Show" or "David Letterman" (I forget which) a couple of years ago... for whatever that's worth.

Dee is reportedly gonna be on the new season of "Celebrity Appretice" as well. That should help him hock a coupla more cds. Maybe he has the same agent as Bret Michaels.

Good for Dee - he's got a family to take care of and needs to make a buck. I am guessing the royalties aren't coming in like they used to (since that PMS/Birth Control Pill commercial and the failure of his TV show), so he needs to make some $$$. I have no problem with that! Man's gotta eat and he probably has a huge tax bill (he is in the North East, famous for insane housing taxes) on his big house (that Stay Hungry probably paid for). Let him try something new - it's what he does to make a living.

This won't make much, if any money, and if it does end up making him a few beans, good for him.
Have you seen his house on MTV's "Cribs" or his reality show? I don't think he's doin' this for the beans, he's doin' fine by himself.
I'm sure he was paid handsomely for the use of "We're Not Gonna Take It" in a PMS drug commercial, and for allowing "I Wanna Rock" to be rewritten as the "Goofy Goober Rock" song in the SpongeBob Squarepants Movie.
I did and I bet he made more money from that Spongebob movie in those 5 minutes of screentime then he has in his 30 plus years of Twisted Sister.
He's also got a writing credit for a song on Celine Dion's Christmas album (yes, really) that sells a few zillion copies every December so I'd say he can pretty much do whatever he wants, like this Broadway album, and not worry about record sales....
Didn't anyone else read this part?? (You can read more about the Celine Dion thing at my website) Dee does not need money, he's set for life! He's doing something he wants to, becasue he enjoys it! Besides, if Sebastian Bach and Paul Stanley can act in Broadway shows, why can't Dee do this project?

People forget this this a business and at the end of the day, no matter what ANYONE says, it's about making money. TS became a nostalgia act and sealed their fate with a Christmas album. Dee is one of the champions of metal and is a great ambassador for the genre. If anything, this record is going to turn people on to heavy metal. Hope it does well and I may check it out when it's released. Biff Byford alone is worth picking it up.

Bump for news...Coming this May...Dee Does Broadway
Quote :
The album features Snider doing versions of classic Broadway songs from musicals like West Side Story, South Pacific and Sweet Charity. And here’s the track listing:
Cabaret
The Ballad Of Sweeney Todd
Big Spender (with Cyndi Lauper)
Mack the Knife
Whatever Lola Wants (with Bebe Neuwirth)
Music Of The Night (with Trans-Siberian Orchestra violinist Mark Wood)
The Joint Is Jumpin’ (with Jesse Blaze Snider)
Luck Be A Lady (with Clay Aiken)
I Get A Kick Out Of You
There Is Nothin’ Like A Dame (with Priscilla Queen Of The Desert stars Will Swenson, Tony Sheldon and Nick Adams)
Razzle Dazzle
Tonight/Somewhere (with Patti LuPone)
Hmmmmm, this is gonna be tough sell. Dee singing showtunes with Lilith from 'Cheers'? I dunno, man. I just don't know.
EDIT: http://soundcloud.com/dee-snider/cabaret
Nah, not gonna happen. Just too light-in-the-loafers for me.

The only way this could be good is if he focused on Broadway tunes from pre-1965 or so.
But then again, when I think of an album of Broadway tunes being good...Dee Snider would be one of the last people I would think of to pull it off.
I'll give him credit for stretching out his 15 minutes over 30 years.
