Bingo - Spring and Fall seasons. They count them as separate seasons, unlike South Park which calls the fall episodes the first half of the season and the spring episodes the 2nd half

What a bunch of horse sh!t!!! I like the show because it is bit of guilty pleasure, and I know many may disagree with me, but I feel that my knowlege of metal and hard rock history is greater then those three hosts. But that could be sore grapes and my ego talking since VH1 rejected the pilot epsiode of Manny's Metal Lands and show with my first guest Killen. It would have been ratings gold!

| I gotta say, aside from Mustaine and Brian Johnson, I think this may be the most underwhelming list of guests they've ever had. I mean c'mon, two dudes from Buckcherry? Jesse James DuPree? Does anybody really care what he's been up to?? Though I admit that seeing Marilyn Manson's name up there made me chuckle, and not only cuz he'll be sharing a couch with Biff Byford. His presence on a low-rated basic cable show pretty much cements his status as a has-been. - manny wrote:

If Eddie, Don and what's his nuts ever go down in a plane crash, get an audition tape into VH1 Classic immediately, Manny! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Yeah, that's a pretty dull guest list.
Don't a lot of reality shows do the two-seasons-per-year thing? I'm pretty sure Survivor does it...

The three of us could do a better show, even as a web show!!!! Instead of 3 guys from Jersey, we'd have one guy from Jersey who could also get his own schlock cinema segment!

| If I were in charge of "That Metal Show" I'd spice up "Stump the Trunk" a little by changing the set up... in addition to winning a prize if Eddie gets your question wrong, you'd also have a chance to throw a ball at him and knock him into a dunk tank full of live scorpions and snakes. ... have I mentioned lately that I don't like Eddie Trunk very much? - Quote :

That would kick ass. First order of business would be to get Gene Simmons, Ozzy and Marc "Skippy" Price together for a 25th anniversary "Trick or Treat" cast reunion. (Ozzy: "Wait a minute, I was in what now? Honestly, I don't remember that bloody film at all.") _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Oh man, I'd watch that in a heartbeat. Find Solid Gold Dancer-turned-rock zombie Sammi Curr too. Assuming he's not dead from turning tricks on Hollywood Blvd., I'd like to know how he's been. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I agree this is a pretty weird line-up this season for the show. Manson? Sully Erna? Neither really seems like a fit for the show but whatever (nor does Dice but I love him so he gets a pass). There are still some high profile names though: Slash, Paul Rodgers, Mustaine & Johnson. I know Don is a big fan of Andrew Dice Clay, he's cited him as one of his favorite comics, so I guess that's how he got on.
I LOVE the fact that Todd & Nelson from Buckcherry are going to be on. They are long overdue for an appearance, TMS needs to give more spotlight to the younger bands that still play in the style that's preferred on that show. They should have bands like Steel Panther, Papa Roach, Charm City Devils, The Last Vegas, Hardcore Superstar, Reckless Love, Avenged Sevenfold, Bad City, Evile, Hinder, etc on as well and just make sure those shows have a decent headlining guest.

That Metal Show kicks off its ninth season on the VH1 Classic channel on Friday with an interview with Axl Rose – the GN’R mainman’s first TV grilling in 20 years.
That Metal Show host Eddie Trunk says:
“Axl has new management, and they reached out to VH1 and asked about what sort of things that they might be able to do to get the word out that Axl’s out on the road and all that.
“Originally, I was hearing that it might be some sort of a hotel room interview. And then I was told, ‘Well, what if we just bring all the guys and do a version of [That Metal Show] from a Guns show?
“Axl walked into the venue at, like, 8 o’clock. He walked on stage at midnight and played until 3am, and he walked in and sat down with us around 5:30am. So it was a long, long day. But obviously you’ve gotta kind of expect that going in if you’re going to try to do something with Axl.
“I think people are going to see a side of him they may not have realised existed. Is he a sensitive guy? Absolutely. But he also has a great sense of humour about it, and I didn’t get the sense that he was gonna storm off and was on the edge of his seat. He really started to get comfortable and warmed up to hanging out with us.
“He loved talking music, he loved talking about this version of the band and how he feels about going forward.”
The Axl Rose episode of That Metal Show airs November 11 at 11pm (Eastern Time) on VH1 Classic. Check your local listings as timings will vary, depending on your country of residence.

| I like That Metal Show for a nostalgia trip but it is nothing more and nothing less than that.
I saw an episode where the guys were arguing about bands that should have made it bigger and their lists couldn't have been more off the mark - I mean Eddie Trunk had UFO as his number 1 'band that should have been bigger'.
WTF?!
I know the other guys disagreed with him on this point too but their choices weren't much better either.
In any case, this show caters to a very safe yet aging audience. It doesn't really look into anything metal has to offer nowadays or really anything metal has had to offer in the last 20 years since the headbanger ball days.
It is fun to watch for anyone who misses the 80s but at the same time, unless you're in the mood everything feels very recycled and just out of context. I think metal should be represented in all its glory - both the old days and the new days. The show adopts this attitude that anything past a certain point is just not relevant. I think that is a major shame and calling it "That Metal Show" is a tad misleading.
However, going back to what I said before - it caters to particular segment. Most people in that audience and most viewers wouldn't know anything about a band like Revocation, a band like Havok, or Toxic Holocaust... would have very little idea about black or death metal in general as well so it's made for the cookie cutter, 'loved metal in the 80s' / 'hate anything post 1990' audience.
