Can't say I'm actually particularly familiar with the original. I love System, but I rarely ventured outside of their albums. Should rectify that mistake at some point. Cool cover, though.
You've reminded me of a couple of my favourite covers;
I absolutely love this Sabbath cover, though I'm sure a few people will get their knickers in a twist over it ;D
The original track is on their first demo. It was never re-recorded. It's a cool weird tune. Daron sings it.
Anyway, System have done some cool covers, yeah. "Snowblind" and "The Metro" are excellent. I love how different "Snowblind" is compared to the original. That's how you do a cover!
Here's a cool cover Opeth did of Celtic Frost's "Circle of the Tyrants"!

I can't find a clip of it, but I was just listening to Iron Savior's S/T for the first time in a long while and there's a great cover of Nazareth's "This Flight Tonight" on there.

This is not a metal band, but my 17-year-old son has introduced me to CAKE. They are an interesting band and cover this song. I never liked this song in its original form, but this is pretty cool, and is one of my favorite tunes by them! They also cover "War Pigs" but I don't like it nearly as well. I'm a purist I guess.
Ah, I love Cake. That cover is a good one, but on the same album, Fashion Nugget, has even better a cover;
I never thought the 'War Pigs' cover clicked correctly either, honestly. I don't think it's a purist thing, I just don't think John McCrea's vocal delivery quite fits it.

That's a cool cover, I like that girl's voice even if it does sound a bit auto-tuned up. I might have to check out their other stuff, I've never heard the band before.

I don't know that she's auto-tuned. She's got a great voice. Beware of early albums by them, as they're not the same. They started out very young, doing piano/keyboard-driven pop kinda stuff with a Christian angle, but they got heavier as they got older.
I guess they have parent managers who were like show-moms, you know; seems like the whole state of PA hates them. Haha.
Either way, the One and Done EP is how I discovered them. Just a random $2 buy. It's a live EP and I thought it was pretty killer. They came out with a full-length last year or the year before that went over really well.
They're not hard rock, though. They mix in a lot of 90s stuff, too. Just a warning. But they've come a long way since the keytar.
Great Firehouse tune, though.

I don't know anything about that, sir. My buddy is a fan and sent me some links to their stuff, but it didn't do anything for me. I'm not a fan of female vocals, with very few exceptions. She's cute though.

Ditto. I'd like to add that I've never even heard of them.
It's an ok tribute album, but after a few spins, it just makes you appreciate the originals that much more.
