I just noticed a piece in the local paper that a new Goodwill store in my 'hood (which has been under construction for the past several months) is having its official opening this coming weekend, I may have to drop by and see if I can scrounge up anything cool. Unfortunatley, I'm not overly impressed with any of them (aside from TSO, which I already have). I was so excited to see something worthwhile in a Goodwill shop, I just grabbed them up. Most of them will probably go on the trade/sell list at some point.
I'd take that XYZ off your hands. I'll keep you in mind. I just picked them up this past Saturday, so while my initial spins were less than impressive, none of them were out-right horrible. I'd like to give them a little time to digest before I decide to send them packing. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. I got this for a buck at a Goodwill once too. I guess no one wants early 90s Ratt. This is probably my favorite album of Ratt's.

I'm just not a huge Ratt fan in general. I have their greatest hits comp that cures what ails me if I'm coming down with a case of Ratt-Madness. I don't know that Detonator will get much airplay from me. Same deal with that White Lion disc. Big Game isn't bad, but I probably won't listen to it much. Their greatest hits is enough for me as well. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Yesterday I had the chance to go out of town by a few hours and stopped at FYE and scored some great albums.
Coverdale/Page - S/t Ratt - Detonator Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears Testament - The Formation of Damnation Hardline - Double Eclipse Scorpions - Face the Heat Slaughter- Mass Slaughter The Best Of Slaughter
Having owned these albums previously (except Testament) I was more than stoked to find them again. I spent a total of $23.00 and the Coverdale/Page album was a buck!
One thing that I saw was that they had a used copy of X-Sinner's Get It album for $39.99. Dang! It's more than I can spend. Oh well.

That one was still brand new in the shrink-wrap. I am huge Jeff Beck and I would probably like this album more, if it was tim Bogart's less then impressive vocal performance. Jeff Beck himself was less then impressed with the album, since he moved after just one album and tour. I have this on vinyl and even thou not a favorite eventually I will replace it with a CD version. But I hope you don't hold this album against Jeff Beck, he has done waaaaaaay better albums then this.

With Ratt and White Lion, I pretty much knew what to expect. I was excited to find that BBA but thought it was kinda bland. I'll probably shelve it for now and revisit it sometime down the road to see if anything grabs me. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. The guitar playing will grab you, but Jeff Beck himself thought the album was a dog and said so during the tour to promote the disc.

Double Eclipse was a blind buy for me I got at Movie Trading Company so I guess I got lucky. The name Neal Schon is what got me to buying it but finding out that current Axel Rudi Pell vocalist was one of the finding members sealed the deal on making me a fan (with the awesome music being the catalyst of course). I now have all their albums (the new one being one of my top albums this year) and apart from the second one they are some great MHR albums (the second one is still a good album but seemed like an attempt to be more modern-after that they went back to the MHR format).

I love Double Eclipse. I originally heard it back in HS when my uncle gave me his copy of the cassette because he upgraded. I did not like the second and I have not heard the third album at all, but I will get it eventually. I lost the major portion of my CD collection in my "D" and have been trying to recollect the albums that I lost and loved like Hardline.

| Not sure how your tastes match up to mine, but the third is a great improvement over the second one. Much more melodic and memorable. | |

After my first post, I realized I hadn't heard No More Tears since I first got it almost 20 years ago. At that time, I was crazy obsessed with No Rest for the Wicked, so compad NMT heavily to that. Plus I was getting more into punk rock than metal at that time, anyway. So I just gave it a re-listen. And I actually like it quite a bit. I still don't care for "Mama I'm Coming Home". Maybe due to overplay. But yeah, NMT fits in well with the rest of his albums up to that point.

I was listening to this CD in the car on the way to work this morning. It's a really good album and, IMO, easily among his best material. The songs are just so good. _________________ FINAL SIGN

| Ten 13 is such a shockingly amazing record. I bought it because it was so cheap and figured there'd be something I would like on it. Boy was I way off - the whole thing is killer. And not just killer in that I paid a buck for it; killer in I would've been happy paying full price. I agree about it being some of his best stuff. | |

Yeah, he's only had 2 post-VH records, IMO, that are really good, solid albums all the way around... Marching To Mars and Ten 13. The others have good stuff on them, but not all the way through. _________________ FINAL SIGN
