- We have several thrift stores in town, but the cd's are usually CCM (you can SOMETIMES find Christian rock or metal) or Christmas music.
The kids and I stopped at the thrift store in town yesterday for the first time in a while yesterday and my heart started to flutter when I saw a big box in the corner with about 50 CDs in it. I figured "Woohoo, maybe I'll find something cool, it's been awhile"... turned out they were ALL Christmas music. On the other hand, I did pick up the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" movie on DVD for a buck so it wasn't a total waste of a trip. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Ya know, now that you guys have mentioned it, there does seem to be a inordinate amount of Christmas music in my thrift shop visits as well. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Ya know, now that you guys have mentioned it, there does seem to be a inordinate amount of Christmas music in my thrift shop visits as well. It was kinda strange to see a whole big box full of nothing but Christmas CDs. Are there really people out there who strictly collect holiday music? What do they listen to during the other eleven months of the year? So many questions... _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| From Tunes Music Store clearence bin... This is the 2nd time I've owned that Prong album. It's been years since I've heard it, so I thought I'd give it another shot for a buck. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Well worth the money and then some for those two. I'd easily rank that Urge Overkill record in my top five of alternative 90's rock. Shocked me they didn't become big off that. | |

Yea, they seemed like they were right on the cusp of hitting the big time, but somehow didn't. They weren't able to capatilize on the success of 'Girl You'll Be a Woman Soon' from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. Saturation's not bad. It's a little different than the stuff I normally listen to, but for a buck, it's a fine diversion. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | Picked up Hayseed Dixie's KISS MY GRASS: A HILLBILLY TRIBUTE TO KISS at the dollar store over the weekend. Totally worth a buck. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

$1 Nice pick-up. That was the first Paul Gilbert cd I owned. If you see any other of his works sitting in the dollar bin, let me know. I've got a few gaps in my collection. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I got Sonata Arctica - Unia & Winterhearts Guild about a year ago in the discount bin at the record store for $3 each. Try as I might, I can't seem to get why these guys are popular. Same bin netted me the double live albums from Hammerfall and Evergrey. Both of those albums are fantastic!

G&R-Appitite For Destruction G&R-Use Your Illusion I G&R-Use Your Illusion II Skid Row-s/t
Before hand I only had best ofs (except Skid Row, I have Slave To The Grind).

| From Hastings
Sepultura - Nation +5
From Amoeba
They run a buy three get a fourth free on all red tagged discount discs. Didn't realize it until after checking my card later but the clerk only rang up half of them. So these total were a buck a piece.
Untimely Demise - City Of Steel Penance - Alpha & Omega Penance - Proving Ground Hell - Human Remains Tenet - Sovereign Revelation Frozen Mosque Firebird - Hot Wings Mission Of Burma - catalog sampler

| Nice pickups MG.
I just noticed a piece in the local paper that a new Goodwill store in my 'hood (which has been under construction for the past several months) is having its official opening this coming weekend, I may have to drop by and see if I can scrounge up anything cool. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Unfortunatley, I'm not overly impressed with any of them (aside from TSO, which I already have). I was so excited to see something worthwhile in a Goodwill shop, I just grabbed them up. Most of them will probably go on the trade/sell list at some point. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
