Though I agree with those who've said it's all heavy metal, my sub-genres of choice would be traditional, power (especially US), and prog metal. However, if a band is good and has some clean vocals, I'll usually give it a shot!

I like all traditional subgenres. No Core, no NuMetal
But my favorite is Black Metal including DSBM And Pagan/ Viking/ Folk Metal
