Steve Harris with a heavy nod to Steve Rowe....who is very underrated as a bassist. Whoever laughed at the suggestion of Steve Rowe must not be listening very closely!

Show me something he has done thats good and I may change my mind. I just think the guy is a joke!

It seems to me that Steve Rowe is audible, the band leader, and stands out since he is a member of the Christian metal scene, which is a smaller subset of metal, and so he is seen as something special. Not that he isn't special, and I enjoy the first two and sometimes three albums, but I wonder if he really is among the elite.

I wouldn't say he is a joke, but then I do like to incite a flame here and there...

e.g. Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller ...
but Billy Sheehan or others with great Bass Jams are great too.

Yeah! Actually, guys like that are probably better than metal bass players, in general. Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, and Jaco Pastorius (R.I.P.), to name a few, are absolutely nutty bassists.
