Looks like Wargod posted about these guys in 2007, back when they were simply called Lazarus. No one commented and that thread is now in the graveyard. So I present Lazarus Thread A.D.

Picked their debut full-length today. I'm actually surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet considering it's on Metal Blade. The album is called The Onslaught, and it's pretty badass. New school thrash, similar to Gama Bomb, Hatchet, Bonded By Blood, Evile, and the like. Lots of old school Testament-like bass playing, too, which I love.
There are some modern touches, especially in the vocals that press upon that metalcore boundary. But that's par for the course these days. Still, it's not screaming. The vocals are natural-sounding, organic, and they kick ass! I encourage everyone to check these guys out. Well worth it.
Just listen to "Last Breath" on their MySpace page. I think that'll hook ya.

I must've missed these guys 1st time around. Either that or I tend to ignore Wargods posts (j/k, dude )
Not too shabby. The music sounds decent and the vocals, while harsh, aren't that bad. I can even overlook that Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt on the one guy. I'd probably get this used or on ebay or something.

The image of the building on their myspace page looks like very similiar to the cover of Jeff Loomis' solo album. I wonder if it's the same designer?

There is very little iniqueness between designers these days, especially for metal albums. I remember when you knew without a doubt that Travis Smith designed an album cover. Those times are no more, sadly.
It would be nice to see some originality in graphic designers.

It could be the same guy that did both for all I know. It's just the first thing that popped into my head when I saw their myspace page.

I actually think Travis did the Loomis album. He didn't do the Lazarus A.D. album.

Great thrash metal methinks. I got this as a blind purchase and was glad it didn't turn out to be a core band. They're on tour with Testament and I definatly plan on seeing them .

Just saw their video the other day and they're not bad for a new school band. None of the other new school thrash has done anything for me so far. I'll probably buy this album. It's also produced by James Murphy which is a plus.

I picked this up based on James Murphy producing and was really surprised how much I like it. Be great to see them with Testament.

The Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt on myspace kind of killed it. The vocals suck as well.

To add on to what DC said; these guys are GREAT! Pretty good live show, and the lead guitarist can shred! All cool, down to earth dudes as well. I sat and talked with the lead singer / bass player for a bit after the show. Great dude, and totally out to have fun at the shows!
They reminded me a little of Exodus. Singer is kinda like Dukes, but doesn't annoy me as much as Dukes does. Yah, there are some modern influences, but that's to be expected really. They thrash, so I'm game!!
