"Destiny Is Sorrow," from A Fragile Mind, is pretty damn catchy. That whole album is, actually, which is why it's my favorite.

That album is awesome! The second is nearly as good. Never heard of them before I saw Locky selling them. They were a blind buy.

They are expensive. I was watching copies for Shiney on eBay for $4.99 a piece, then the asshat seller increased the starting bids to $9.99 each. Lame.

Yeah, I dig the music but since it's a band with which I'm unfamiliar, I'm not willing to take out a second mortgage to finance getting them.

Yeah, all of Zero Hour's stuff is win. Don't know why they aren't more known, but that goes for all the stuff I mentioned. ZH is a *little* above that stuff in popularity but they still deserve to be way more known.

Checked them out too and I liked it. Actually getting one of the cds from musicboomerang.

I haven't seen them mentioned before so I will throw out Headhunter. This is Schmier's other band after he was fired from Destruction. More melody and plenty of hooks! Rebirth is my favorite album by them, and they recently released Parasite of Society which was good as well.

I can tell you I enjoy the likes of the songs I mentioned as much as just about anything on I&W... Maybe not 'Metropolis' or 'Under A Glass Moon' but there is also the ever-present hindrance of one James LaBrie which lowers their competition for me nevertheless.


Old Queensrÿche? Now we're talking. Yeah that music is life to me. Old Queensrÿche is often one of the greatest things on the whole planet to me. Don't worry, they're safe.


Old FW? Depends on the song. I feel like FW's whole career has been huuuge highs and then...sort of ehh lows. I like the Power of Omens stuff better than the worst stuff on say 'The Spectre Within'. But not better than 'The Apparition', 'Exodus' or 'Ivory Gate of Dreams'. See how I stopped after 'No Exit'?

Jurassic Jade are killer. However, this is one of my favorite Japanese metal LPs:



Pure class. Imagine early Sabbat (Japanese one that is) meets Mercyful Fate meets Japanese music, if that makes sense. Shadow Kingdom rereleased it a while ago, with a bonus disc with a couple of demo tracks. Highly recommended.

Abaddon Incarnate, Morbid and Diocletian should all be much bigger than they are but the releases are hard to find. The Blackshadows Tape by Dispatched is amazing too.
