| Listening to Narnia's swansong, 'Course of a Generation', made me think that this is a gem people will probably never even give the chance of day. The fans that didn't discover or like Narnia with Rivel/Liljegren as their singer will probably never try this album, as they most likely don't even care. And many of those already into the band won't pick it up becasue, let's face it, Rivel/Liljegren was the voice that gave the band their character. Well, it's THEIR LOSS! This is a great melodic power metal album, and the new singer fits the bands style perfectly. It's too bad the band broke up, as i really think the bands future looked brighter now! _________________ | |

| I totally agree on that one, I was thinking they actually stepped it up and they broke up. The new Neverland album is like this. It's symphonic and many, including me, are somewhat burned out on that but it's a great album imo and not as over the top as some of the symphonic bands were getting. And Jon Oliva is on a song. |

| Is it trad. metal or flower metal?
As for the subject, I'm gonna go with: INTRUDER - "Psycho Savant" ANTITHESIS - s/t DEADLY BLESSING - "Ascend from the Cauldron" SCREAMER - "Target: Earth" FAITH FACTOR - "Against a Darkened Sky"

It is a real shame they broke up. _________________

| I agree with you on that Narnia Kmorg. I didn't listen to it right away when I got it but when I eventually got to I wish I listened to it sooner. Probably the best album they ever did. 2 albums that I don't think a lot of people have heard of is by one band. THRONE OF CHAOS! These guys were friggin' awesome and I have no idea why they never got some sort of success. This album Pervertigo Is just great all the way through. If you like Dream Evil you'll definetly want to pick this up because Niklas Isfeldt sings on most of the songs and the music isn't too far from Dream Evils sound either. The next and last album of theirs (they only have 3) is called Loss Angeles. They also shortened their name to T.O.C. (for some stupid reason) either way this album was great too from start to finish. This album added elements from their first album, which basically sounded like early Children Of Bodom, it also added stuff from their second album, On Loss Angeles, the music was progressive power metal with hints of jazz and thrash. It made a really great album. I put some songs from these guys on some compilations I made here and everyone seemed to like them. They are definetly worth picking up and I believe you can find their albums really cheap on amazon. I got them for less than $5. ENJOY! _________________ | |

| Last Days of Humanity - Putrefaction in Progress their final album was also their fastest & best. the drummer just goes blastbeat insane thoughout the entire 41 songs. no one here would touch this disc with a 10 foot pole other than myself & probably DeathCult, but it rules anyway. _________________ | |

Noone here except for Eyesore and maybe one or two others knows about this band, but they're Great! They remind me alot of Nevermore. I'm one of them. I just revisited this album not too long ago. Still sounds good, although I might hesitate to put it in the "killer" category. One of the better albums that I picked up as part of the cdbaby $5 deal for sure. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I ended up getting all the Manticora releases. I'm still not sure whether I like them all that much or what. The few songs I listened to I liked and it reminded me of Blind Guardian but I haven't had a chance to get beyond that. _________________

| Their first one sounds sort of like Crematory on drugs in space, very interesting and atmospheric journey of gothic/death metal that is notably not overproduced.. Second one has intensely interesting song structures jam packed with feeling just like the debut, but the motif here reminds of mid-period Dark Tranquillity..only interesting (couldn't resist, I can't stand that band). Also showcases a wide range of vocal styles; clean male vocals, clean female vocals, rough male vocals, and grunt/death metal male vocals. Awesome gothic metal with killer production. Other bands get the credit but this came out in 1997. They have a third one that would definitely be considered the 'sell out' record, and is nowhere near these two, but people who like the odd experimental kind of things that bands do which usually leads to their demise would dig it. It's not ALL bad. Distinctly European melodic power metal beefed up with killer guitar tone, heavy riffs and soloing, and lots of Rush influence for good measure, this is one of their best ones and actually the most focused AS A BAND but everyone just knows 'Return to Heaven Denied' (it's my favorite too but it doesn't TOWER over their catalog) and never pays any attention to the almost equally good stuff that came after. Weird vocal mix, but everything on this is really outstanding and bursting with dynamics. 'Dark' band number 2. Do you like Grave Digger? What about Sentenced? Their discography resides within a wonderful little place in between. 'Dark' band number 3. People into the electronically influenced phase of Paradise Lost would eat this up, especially because this band still grunts on here and the guitars always showcase some great classic metal leads. ROCK SOLID songwriting. Love almost everything this band has. Also check out 'Midnight Solemnly Dance' for something more old-school, and 'Ultimate Darkness' for a more intense, heavy version of this one. more to come later | |

| Lord Bryon - Fly Free great melodic metal fronted by Olaf Hayer. I have always enjoyed his vocals and this band put together a great release, although it was their only cd. There is a cassette out there of demos though.. _________________ | |
