| The Skeleton Key. I'm not a huge fan of movies that deal with voodoo, but it was decent. | |

| A Nightmare on Elm Street. The remake. There's an interesting change to Freddy's backstory that helps set the remake apart from the original, but (surprise!) it's really not as good as the original. Jackie Earle Haley does okay as Freddy but he's no Robert Englund. And in some cases it seems like the filmmakers felt compelled to reference the original series even though it really doesn't make sense (there's no reason for the boiler room in this one). I'd say people should wait to rent it or watch it on tv unless they're really curious about it. | |

Meh, only ok.... I thought so to, but I thought the ending was very emotional and powerful. Weird, I found the ending to be far fetched, and didn't really rhyme with the rest of the movie. It's like they could really come up with a good ending, and ended with somewhat of a compromise. _________________

| An Education - familiar story, deftly done. Lady In The Water - not nearly as bad as the rumors... Paris, Je T'aime - excellent! |

When I saw this I was thinking "ho hum, another PG-13 'thriller' that could have been way better..". I do believe the premise of vodou/hoodoo is largely untapped in big or even medium budget horror. I'd like to see something completely killer come of it at some point...like the phonograph scene even though it was small was creepy, and I loved the southern gothic atmosphere everywhere.

Do they have the "Police Squad" series on DVD? If not, I'm gonna have to them convert myself.

Yes, after years of fans demanding it, all 6 original episodes are finally available... http://www.amazon.com/Police-Squad-Complete-Leslie-Nielsen/dp/B000H7JCFK _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. I'm thinking about picking up that one myself. I loved that show as a kid. I hope they hold up after all these years. At the very least, it's going on my want-list. Got me a birthday coming up soon, so I gotta have some suggestions ready for my family. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was.
