I am going to post a video daily (Once a day) of some of my favorite players playing my favorite instrument the guitar. These will most likely be instrumentals. Feel free to comment on the video and tell me what you think of the player..
First video is going to be of Gus G and Firewind. I picked this video because of course Gus has been chosen to play for Ozzy and will be on his new cd. Gus is not only amazing he is very fun to watch and it seems to be fun for him. Other player is not to shabby either...

Nils Norberg previosuly from one of my fav band Nocturnal Rites. This guy is so clean and is one of the best sweep pickers out there IMO. Great technique and this song just spills melody. ENJOY!!!!

John Petrucci what more is there to say. One of the best guitar players on the planet IMO. The instrumentation in this song is amazing. I will post the original song as well as it has one of the best solo breakdowns I have ever heard...

Guthrie Govan, this man makes me look at the guitar in a whole new way. He can play any style with the best of them yet stays true to melody. If you havent heard of this guy check him out truly one of the best.

Gary Moore is someone who has been around for a long time and has played many styles of music. one thing I can always look forward to is the way he seems to speak his words through his guitar playing. This guy has serious chops and I love his soulful blues.

Great choices. Gus is a phenom and would have been a guitar god in the 80's. Moore is probably one of the most consistent players out there and his understated style needs more notice.

Was Gary Moore ever in any bands? He sounds familiar, but I can't place him.

I know he was in Thin Lizzy for a short time, but that's all I know.

Eric Johnson is one of those players who simply amaze me with how accurate and perfect everything is when he plays. His use of chord voicings is amazing as well and is something I study a lot. I was going to use Cliffs of Dover as thats one of the best guitar songs ever but everyone knows that and I like the jazz feel in this one.

Oh yeah, now we're talkin! Eric is one of my favorites, but that song always makes me focus more on the bassist.

I dig Eric Johnson alot. He is smooth as silk, I love his quiet playing as well as when he lets loose and shreds. His guitar style fits his vocal style perfectly and he always has a superb band behind him.

Michael Romeo plays an amazing neo classical style that blends amazing finger tapping, sweeps, and appregios from hell. The solo from Sea of Lies has IMO the best finger tapping piece ever and is one of the best solos of all time.

Daniel Johns is the reason I play guitar today. When I first heard Silverchair at 13 I was blown away that they were that good at such a young age...Although he is no shredder....

Paul Gilbert to me is what shredding is all about. The man can also write some beautiful guitar pieces that just blow my mind.

Cant say I'm a huge fan of the bands he has played with over the years, although I love the one Darrell Mansfield album he played on and I like the tribute albums he has done with Mike Portnoy. There is no denying his utmost shredability and knack for melody and wide range of styles he plays on guitar.
