I have to post this song, although the lyrics are cheesy this song just makes me bang my head killer groove and although the lyrics are hilarious the way they are song to the music works. One of my fav KORN songs...
Are you ready for a good pounding baby? (get down) Are you ready to get it on? (get down, get down) Don't pretend you're not F**** freaky baby. (get down) I will spank that just for fun (get down, on the ground)
up high, make a mother smurfer cry It's so good, that I could die Help me stay alive.
The time is right I want to feel it good'n tight. I'm down to do this all night I'm gunna beat it upright.
I'll behave Oh my God, make me beg, my God! Yes I'm ready for a good flogging baby (my God) (get down) Come on ream my just for fun (get down/my God/get down) Don't let up till my is bleeding baby (my God) (get down) Don't let up until you are done (get down, on the ground)
up high, make a mother smurfer cry It's so good, that I could die Help me stay alive.
The time is right I wanna feel it good'n tight. I'm down to do this all night I'm gunna beat it upright.
We're going on a ride I'm gunna turn you inside out upside down Don't try to run and hide, Yes it's true what they say about my kind.

OK, after that, the Korn Prosecution rests.
Geez, I know aural garbage when I hear it.
You say this song makes you want to bang your head. Me too. It makes me want to bang my head into the nearest solid surface so I don't have to hear any more of this tripe.
It's cool though for those who like this band but that song just brings back memories from the KMFDM concert Korn ruined for me.

I don't think anyone's into Korn because of the thoughtful lyrics. Unless you're 15.

I like the groove of the song but it's obvious that the singer was listening to too many mtv rap artists for inspiration.

yeah, Korn doesn't have the brightest lyrics on the block. That's for sure.
Still - that's a good song! I was bangin' my head!!!
I only have Korn's Greatest Hits, but I'll probably eventually branch out and get a few more of their albums.
They're not a top fave band, but I do like em.
Thanks for all the responses guys.

My old roommate was a fan and I had a mix tape of Korn on side 1 and Kid Rock on side 2. It was an interesting listen at the time, something new, but it grew old pretty quick. Haven't heard anything from them in years though. I understand now that it's just 3 member left in the band. The drummer and 2nd guitarist flew the coop.
I saw them live once too. It was ok. Lotsa energy and pyro, but the music wasn't there for me. Too much bass-heavy loud distorion. Oh and bagpipes. Horrible, horrible bagpipes.

I had the debut at one point, but overall, like MG pointed out, it was too noisy, and there wasnt much going on music wise.

I personally like em a lot. However, I used to hate them. Not sure what happened. I guess it was one day when I saw one of their videos. I really liked it. I went out and got their Greatest Hits and it grew on me. That's the only one I still have, but I've been thinking lately of expanding my collection of their stuff.
Thoughts?
I am not really a big fan. They are probably one of the better bands of the Rap Metal movement... one I can somewhat stomach. But, that really isn't saying much! I liked grunge and alot of the various "alternative" styles of the 90's (even electronica and ska), but Rap Metal was not one that I got into. Sorry.

But do you actually consider Korn to be 'rap metal'? They had no rapping to speak of in their music at all. Perhaps you are confusing Korn with Linkin Park. That's a rapcore/nu metal band. Korn is actually considered to be nu metal (aka alternative metal).

I liked the debut, but I haven't really followed them since. I guess I felt (perhaps unfairly based on radio hits) that they probably became more homagenized as Alternative Metal gave way to Nu-metal in late 90's popular culture. I'm interested in that mid 90's era, but the way it turned out disappointed me as I had high hopes for a bunch of bands that I thought might build on what Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, and maybe Helmet had done. Unfortunately most of the bands I liked (maybe excepting Godsmack) never went anywhere. Instead what seemed to win out was a formula for bland pop songs that tried to fool us into thinking they were loud by incorperating the big technological crunch that bands like Machine Head, Pantera, and the Korn s/t had used. But most of the popular stuff that I've heard or bought really didn't have much going on in terms of dynamics or groove. I would agree with Ult that some of the stuff by Disturbed or Sevendust are exceptions. And I do feel that way about the Korn s/t too. But like I say most of the Nu-metal I've heard since is formulaic, bland, and pseudo-loud.

I remember 10 years ago when I was getting into metal I was heavily into KoRn and I found them cool at the time on how obnoxious their lyrics were like cmon I was only 13. I then started hating them a year later and sold my korn cds to a mate of mine at school. I recently started listening to SOME of their music. When it comes to their musicianship they are not at all talented especially the guitar players but what I do like about their music is they write very catchy riffs and are technical when it comes to their sound like no one back in 1994 sounded like them. Jon davis is a complete freak and has issues, his songwriting on most of the albums is complete crap and infantile except for Follow The leader when his songwriting is at its peak songs like Dead Bodys Everywhere, Freak on the Leash, Justin and a few other songs are good examples. I only like their first album and their album Follow the leader and Take a look at the mirror besides those album the band makes me vomit. They certainly don't hold a candle to a grade nu metal bands SOAD and Sevendust. I have no idea why they are labelled metal because they attracted the same fans Kurt Cobain had and they were influenced mostly by alternative bands like Helmet, FNM, Godflesh, etc the only metal bands that they were influenced by were Prong and Pantera if you listen to the song if the Hell if i Could by Prong from their 1991 album prove you wrong you get an idea that Jon Davis ripped of Tommy Victors singing. The more appropriate label for Korn would be NU GRUNGE or new wave of alternative
I have also discovered an interesting phenomenon of Korn they used to be a funk thrash metal band called LAPD that sounded like Faith No More meets Slayer before and with a different singer Richard Morales who got kicked out of the band in 1992 for heroin addiction and I used to have a cdr of their album it aint bad

Cool for you people who like Korn; call their music what you want.
I call it the "music that made me so ill I missed most of KMFDM's set".
That alone is reason enough for me to forever HATE the band.
