I have only The Scarecrow but I really enjoy it. I'd like to pick up the other stuff but I haven't gotten a chance to do it yet. Other stuff is a higher priority on the want list! I like the Alice Cooper tune and I like the Celtic feel of the title track, too. There are some great performances throughout the album.

WOW!
Nice list of musicians!
I'm especially exicited to hear what Tim "Ripper" Owens contributes! He's one of the most underrated singers in metal.
So what will the new Avantasia album be called? "The Wicked Symphony"? or "Angel of Babylon"? You mentioned two names, so I was a bit thrown off.

I think tobias is putting out two albums this time around, hence both titles.

Just found out about the two albums while searching Wikipedia and they are being released at the same time. Scarecrow was my album of the year in '08 and I have listened to that countless amount of times. I can hardly wait for these two and I have high expectations for these.

You and I have a lot in common Dallas.
"The Scarecrow" was also my album of the year in 2008. Fantastic album. 10/10.
I can hardly wait for this new double-album. I'm about to pee my pants just thinking about this one.

Not gonna please fanboys of the first two albums, but a very good song. I prefer this new, more rock style Tobias is doing these days.

It is so not unique! Haha. But it is catchier than the rather typical power metal of the first two albums.

Yeah, definitely not unique. It's pretty typical of European hard-rock, really. But it works really well for Avantasia, I think Tobias really has a penchant for writing that kind of thing.

My regular online store gives both Angel of Babylon and the Wicked Symphony the same release date. April 7th 2010. Could it be Tobias is doing what Therion did with Lemuria and Sirius B, two albums out at once?
Here.
There is also a two-in-one option listed, but it's €35.95 (~$49), so it's not like you save money by getting that package. In fact, you save 10 cents by getting them separate...

AVANTASIA BOOK - "THE WICKED TRILOGY"
On April 3rd the new Avantasia epic will be released in two chapters called "The Wicked Symphony" and "Angel Of Babylon". The two albums are the continuation of the trilogy that began with the album "The Scarecrow" in 2008.
The albums will be available as normal CDs, as two separate double-picture vinyls, and as a beautiful collector's edition with a beautiful Avantasia-picture-book. The deluxe box set will feature two CDs in two digibooks with impressive booklets, codes for online content (like bonus tracks, etc.) and the Avantasia-book "The Wicked Trilogy" including many never before seen photos from the tour and from photo sessions, etc. An exclusive interview, liner-notes, and a biography will also be included. All the album versions will be released simultaneously on April 3rd, so no one has to buy everything piece by piece but rather choose the version they prefer to get right from the start.
Below is a picture of the collector's deluxe-edition as offered in stores on April 3rd:

I'd really like to get that deluxe edition, but if there are not any bonus tracks that are not on the single versions, I might just get them separately if they are cheaper.

$63 is a tad bit steep (a tad bit?). I think I might just buy the regular double CD album.

Tim Ripper Owens - awesome addition!
Jorn Lande - In my opinion, his best work in an already stellar career was on The Scarecrow.
