| Yeah, some bands actually do sound better in the studio vs. 'live'. Depends on the band. I love Epica. | |

| I got the new release yesterday. The two CD + book deluxe edition. But I went out with the boys so didn't get a chance to listen to it yet. And the missus is still sleeping so I'm going to have to wait a little longer. The packaging is real nice though... | |

| Same here Lari. I listened to the first cd though 2 days ago and its pretty good. I skipped through the second one but I liked what I heard so far. The packaging is pretty cool. _________________ | |

| My last day of my current class is Wed. and I get off early which means a trip to the mall and Fye. If I can't find this there, I will be ordering it. | |

| I too received the "Box" set the other day. I've gotten all the way through Wicked Symphony. Very good! It follows up musically and lyrically where The Scarecrow left off. I think the guest performances are fantastic. If you like The Scarecrow, you'll like this. | |

| I got mine on Ebay for 18.99 + 3.00 - it's a Nuclear Blast/Scarecrow release, but it's nice and exactly the same as any other version. | |

| I'm contemplating on getting the box set despite it's high price. Maybe get lucky like Scott and find it for a good price on eBay. | |

| It's not lucky, there's a seller that sells Scarecrow versions. They are cheaper, but they are official releases for the Mexican (I think) market. I've got many Scarecrow copies of things and have been pleased. They are digis individually, but inside of the Box that's no biggie. It beats shelling out $50 for the same exact material. | |

| I am listening to the Wicked Symphony now, about 4 tracks in, and I am really enjoying it. Strange thing is when I went to my usual record place before work, they only had TWS and not both. I thought these both came out on the same day? Why would they not have equal amounts of each for sale since they are supposed to be a part 1 and 2 of a story? Peace. | |

Apparently, and this is complete garbage whether on the part of Tobias or the label, Angel of Babylon is only available as an import. And the price I'm seeing for it is around $25 online.

| I am truly enjoying both these albums and while I still like Scarecrow more these albums are contenders for my top albums this year. One thing I noticed is that these albums contain practically no ballads. Sure there are some more mellow songs (like the one with Klaus Meine) but not quite as mellow as Scarecrow. Also I'm glad to hear one of my top 5 vocalists as part of the cast, Russell Allen who I think is just as much a master vocalist as Jorn Lande. | |

| I got my box-set on Amazon for a FANTASTIC price! It's the NB version. I paid like $22 I think. Better than paying $60.00 everywhere else! I still haven't heard it yet though. But usually my taste in this kind of power metal is pretty much on par with Dallasblack. So if he likes it, I can pretty much take it to the bank I will to!!! So far Freedom Call's new one is my album of the year, but I wonder how things will change when I listen to the two new Avantasia?!! | |

For my 2 cents, Wicked Symphony is the better of the two (not to say Angel Of Babylon isn't any good). The title track to WS (Russell Allen shines on this one), Scales Of Justice (Tim Owens tears it up on this one), Forever Is A Long Time, and States Of Matter (another great performance by Allen) are the most standout tracks on that one. Stargazers, Angel Of Babylon, Rat Race, Symphony Of Life, and Journey To Arcadia are the ones that stand out the most on the other disc (while not a bad song the Jon Oliva one is one of the weaker tracks-not vocal wise though). BTW, I was wrong there is one ballad, Blowing Out The Flame.

I agree with this. They're both so good, though. The Klaus Mien and Ripper Owens ones are really hitting me and of course Jorn is stellar as usual.

| I think WS just blows AOB away, maybe because there's more variety of singers and they all do such a great job. AOB is good but WS might just be my favorite Avantasia yet. |
