That's pretty much how I felt about "Sin City". Yeah, OK, it LOOKED great, it's got all these cool photographic effects and Jessica Alba dancing around half naked... but how about making a movie that has some sort of narrative, or at least makes a lick of sense while you're at it?

That's just terrible. He looks like he's just super-imposed over the other picture. And he appears to be drawn in a completley different style (cartoony) than the rest of the cover (dramatic).
I liked Sin City, but I'm artsy-fartsy (emphasis on fartsy) that way.

That's the actual cover as it was originally done. The Spirit is a vigilante who is usually in the shadows and he is often drawn as part of the background to emphasize this.
The sidekick was definitely drawn and his speech also depicted in a racially stereotypical way, but to be fair to Will Eisner (the creator and artist) the other characters in the series treated him with respect and there were also several other black characters in the series who were depicted as very normal and on an equal footing with The Spirit and the other series' characters. Eisner was actually unusual in his generally more respectful depiction of minorities. (for the 1940s anyway)

Looks like there's gonna be a new Judge Dredd movie. The people supposedly involved on this one might actually pull off a good one this time. Here's hoping :goodluck:

'Judge Dredd' redux: It might actually be good by Marc Bernardin Categories: Comic Books, Film, I'm Just a Geek, Ninjas, Sci-Fi We Americans have had a sad history with Judge Dredd. The hardcore lawman, first published in Britain’s sci-fi anthology comic 2000 AD in 1977, is probably the most popular U.K. comic book character ever. He’s been written by luminaries like Grant Morrison, Garth Ennis, and Mark Millar. He is to British pop culture what Dirty Harry is to America’s: an uncompromising view of justice in a world that’s lost its way. And, most notoriously, Judge Dredd was adapted into the godawful 1995 Sylvester Stallone disaster, which marked the beginning of the end of Sly’s residence on Hollywood’s A-list. The good news for lovers of Dredd, and dystopian sci-fi ass-kickery in general, is that Danny Boyle’s production company, DNA, is shepherding a new version of Dredd to the big screen, and they’ve engaged Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Sunshine) to write the script. And the cherry on top of this particular sundae is that British comics artist Jock (The Losers) is doing production designs, as he indicated in his Twitter feed. All of which leads me to be hopeful for a new Judge Dredd movie — though I’d be more hopeful if Boyle signs on to direct. Where do you fall: eager, fearful, or don’t really care?

My vote for the crappiest super hero movie of all time is 'SUPERMAN IV: Quest for Peace' and 'CAPTAIN AMERICA' which was so terrible it went straight to VHS release and has not even found its way to Walmart's $5 bin.
"SUPERMAN IV' took what started as a great series and finished killing off the francise for over twenty years, even 'Batman and Robin' was not able to accomplish that feat.
I would agree with both of those...good picks. I remember seeing Captain America on HBO years ago, and it was beyond awful. What a shame, because not only was I a huge Captain America fan growing up, but I was also a huge fan of the Avengers.

I was thinking someone would have to bring up this gem before the past page ended. I never saw this movie, but I was told by a good friend to stay far away. The fact that he liked almost anything on the big screen was a good enough reason for me not to see it...not that I was going to anyhow.

That was a downright awful movie as well. I remember seeing this as part of a double feature at the drive in back in the day. The next movie was Rambo:First Blood Part II. That was literally the weirdest combination I've ever seen. Supergirl was so bad, that I almost fell asleep that night. Thank God, I didn't otherwise I would've missed greatness in that of John Rambo!

I forget where I read it but believe it or not, even though it tanked at the box office in the U.S. "Judge Dredd" was reportedly a huge hit in Asia, particularly in Japan. I think it was the #1 "foreign film" of the year at the Japanese box office when it was released there.
Then again, they eat dogs in some parts of the world, so there's no accounting for taste, I guess.
Another great example of a truly awful movie. When those behind the film didn't even think about contacting Anthrax for the use of "I Am The Law", you knew that this movie was going to suck. Hell, they had their soundtrack right there.

I didn't mind it either. It's about as good as your going to get out of someone like Dolph. Then again Dolph's best film ever is "I Come In Peace"! One of my favorite "B" movies of all time. It had everything you wanted, Brian Ben Ben from "Dream On", Jay Bilas of ESPN/Duke basketball fame (as the good alien cop), and the great song by Shooting Star, "Touch Me Tonight" as the movie ended and the credits rolled!

I freakin LOVED "I Come In Peace!" Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be available on DVD in the US...

That was pretty unwatchable, even for Dolph fans such as myself. And I believe this is yet another old movie that is being given the old Hollywood spit-shine remake. I thought I heard it's in production or something.

This movie cost so much (then bombed so badly @ the box office) that it killed the famed B-movie studio Cannon Films. Chuck Norris and Charles Bronson had to go elsewhere to find work after they folded.

I remember Showtime or HBO having what seem to be a Dolph Lundgren double feature every weekend in or around 1990/91. If it wasn't I Come In Peace that was on it "Army of One". I think I remember the best part of that movie was seeing Kristian Alphonso's boobs. Otherwise, it kinda sucked. It would be nice to see "I Come In Peace" on DVD or under "Dark Angel", which is the supposed alternate title. I'd grab it!

BUMP!!!!
I caught part of "Superman Returns" a couple of days ago on the FX Channel. For some odd reason I had missed that one, though I was all hot to see it when it was in theaters a few years back. Now I'm glad I didn't. Granted, I didn't see the whole movie, but what I did see was pretty bad. Why do film makers think EVERY comic book movie has to be dark and gritty nowadays? That vibe simply does NOT work for Superman. He's supposed to be All-American, red white and blue, hot dogs and apple pie. Superman is supposed to be FUN. The bulk of what I saw in "Superman Returns" was NOT fun. I'm glad I never rented this one for my older son (who loves Superman) cuz it definitely would've been too intense for him. I will give grudging props to Kevin Spacey for his performance as Lex Luthor but that's about it.
"Superman IV: The Quest For Peace" may still my least favorite Superman movie but now "Returns" is towards the bottom of the pile as well. Now I understand why it did such a fast fade from the box office.

I dunno, I thought Superman Returns was ok. Not the greatest super hero movie, but a decent enough reboot.
Should we save a spot here for the next Spider Man movie?

I acxtually liked 'Superman Returns' and I thought that Brandon Routh ( I think that is his name) did a really good job as Superman, my problem with the movie is that 1) The chick playing Lois Lane was not strong enough, in the comics and in the all of the other incarnations she is a kick ass woman, who fears nothing. 2) She had a kid!!!!! 3) It was almost (plotwise) a remake of Superman II.
That being said I was glad to see Superman on the silver screen and Kevin Spacey did a great job as Luthor, I wish they would make another (better ) Superman movie. Not the movie I was hoping for but I enjoyed it.

I wanted to show her what a buffet was because she looked skinny as hell, stringy hair...she looked like had some kind of terminal disease.
