What SPORTS Did You Watch Today? - 2017

Watching the Pirates limp to the end of the season, losing 1-0 to the Brewers in the 7th inning.

Watched the Cards beat the Reds in extra innings last night.

Why?  Even I didn't bother watching it.  I watched more of Gotham Season 3 to refresh my memory before tomorrow night's season 4 premier.

I'm a baseball fan. Plus with the way the Dodgers have been playing lately I'm scared to watch them.

Today I watched the Dodgers pull out a game against the Phillies.  For a while there it sure looked like the Phils were going to have a 4 game sweep.

The Dodgers have been playing badly lately. Especially compared to how they were playing earlier in the season.

Amazingly enough the Cardinals are only a game and a half out of the 2nd NL wild card so c'mon Pirates, roll over; play your scrubs and minor leaguers.

Various college football games.  The TCU/OK St. game was quite entertaining.  

Just flipped over to the Cardinal game (I forgot it started at 6 because it's in Pittsburgh).  Already 2-0 STL; I assume someone homered.

OK, back to football.  The Pirates are just blasting Lance Lynn.

Missed the beginning of the Pirates and Cards game but when I turned it on the Pirates were winning 8-2. They ended up beating the Castes 11-6.

I enjoyed watching the Missouri Snowflakes get trounced by Auburn.

I was watching NFL Red Zone but I switched over to Cardinals @ Pirates just in time to see STL bring in Seung Hwan Oh (No) who promptly gave up a 2-run homer to Marte.  Oh sucks.  Thank goodness he's a free agent after this year and we can say goodbye to his sorry ass.  He's 1 and 5 with 4 blown saves.  Take away half of that crap and the Cardinals would be the second wild card.

Well that "vaunted" Bucs' bullpen is trying to let STL back into the game.  With a 4-1 lead in the 7th they've walked the bases loaded with two outs.

EDIT: I knew out bullpen could "out-dumpster fire" the Pirates bullpen.  We gave up 3 runs on two homers.  The Cardinals need to do two things in the offseason - work on fundamental baserunning and do something about the bullpen.

I just flipped over to the Pirates Cards game after watching the Steelers lose again to a terrible Bears team and was pleasantly surprised to see that the Pirates have pulled out the win.

Watched the Redskins beat the Raiders last night.

Well I was watching the Cubs @ Cardinals but it's already 5-0 Cubs and it's only the second inning.  I guess it's time for me to figure out which team I'm going to root for in the post-season.  Right now I'm leaning toward the Astros. 

There are going to be a lot more teams I hate in the post-season than ones I like or am even indifferent to.  LA, NY, Boston, Chicago...bleccch!  I'm pretty meh about Washington and Colorado but I sort of like the Astros.

Anyway, I'm switching over to RAW.

Watching the Cubs and Cardinals.

Watched the Orioles @ Pirates. Andrew McCutchen went 4 for 4, falling a triple short of the cycle. However, he hit his first career grand slam plus a 3 run shot and drove in 8 total runs as the Bucs beat the O's 10-1.

Watching the Reds and Brewers

Yawn.  Cardinals are officially eliminated from the 2017 post-season.

That's actually a good thing because maybe now management will stop F'n around and do something serious in the off-season.  This team needs a "big bopper"; somebody who strikes fear in the hearts of opposing pitchers. 

So now play out the string and make sure we knock the Brewers out too.  We play three against them this weekend and they're still mathematically alive.

There was an article in the USA Today a couple of weeks back where the writer stated that the Marlins may be interested in trading Giancarlo Stanton. One of the teams mentioned as a possible candidate? The Cardinals.
