Ghost (swe) Heavy Metal/Psych Rock/Doom Metal

I really need to start buying their music. Everything I've heard sounds fantastic.

Now that I like. I'm looking forward to this one!

Sounds pretty cool to me. I like that they're branching out a little sound-wise. Keep 'em from getting stale.

The lead singer's wearing a mask, right? His face doesn't seem to move.

Yes. He has several masks that have changed over the years. Hard to believe he used to be the guitarist in Crashdiet of all bands. Lol.

I was getting a little burned-out on their shtick, but seeing them live opening for Maiden re-kindled my interest.

Yeah, I like them in small doses.

I couldn't care less about the shtick, it gets them noticed and is no cheesier than KISS. Fact is they are a brilliant band and this is a brilliant song

I ignore the visual aspect of it all. It's always been kind of cheesy to me, so I just focus on the music.

Nice, changing their sound a little but keeping the BOC stylings. Is the singer trading in his evil pope gimmick for evil Barishnikov meets Vincent Price?

Or has he been taking dancing lessons from Jannick Gers?

I get the feeling that this album will be their British Steel. More straight ahead and anthemic (Tobias has said as much)

I also think it's going to be huge, it just feels like their time.

You didn't miss much. Pretty boring, if I remember correctly.

oh ok. Not much longer anyway until the album is out. I don't anticipate albums much anymore, but for some reason I do with Ghost.

Remember that Rocky movie when Rocky came out of retirement to fight the devil in order to free Apollo's soul from hell?

i used to dig some of the band's tunes from their debut, but it seemed with subsequent releases, the music just started to wear off on me, it's not even interesting anymore, it's f*cking boring.

the fact that they were by far the best band to had won a grammy back in 2016, really just says how bad the Mainstream rock scene has become. it's quite insulting now to be perfectly honest.

It's only insulting if you give a toss about the Grammys so I'm good.

I think that the mainstream rock scene has been garbage since the early 80's and Ghost aren't the greatest band on earth (they are really good) and to be honest I'm a little underwhelmed by the new album but the hard rock/metal scene has been really struggling for genuine headliners for years so I think the are the great ghostly white hope.

This could be their British Steel/The Black Album, it's a blatant attempt at the mainstream and I think it will work and they will win another Grammy.

I'm not feeling much from what I've heard so far. I really liked these guys early on, but the magic is wearing off I guess.

The new album sucks. Very disappointing - way too mellow and has very little crunch.

Yeah Rats was an absolute banger and got me excited and there is plenty of good stuff there (I really like the first instrumental) but as a body of work it's dead last for this one in their catalogue.

I still think it will be huge,

Yeah, Rats got my hopes way up. It will probably break them big as you've said and make them stars.

The albums good but theres just something about it that throws me off. I guess cause its a lot more mellow than the previous albums which isn't bad, but its just too much of it. I really like about 4 or 5 songs the others aren't bad but I just don't see myself listening to this one as much as I did or do of the others.
