I've had this for awhile now. Great band!!! Mercyful Fate meets Blue Oyster Cult is a dead on description. The lyrics are on the satanic side. So, if that sort of thing bugs you, you may not like them.

The vocals harmonies are awesome, very well arranged. It's so nice to hear actual hooks and melodies and clean vocal delivery.

A few years back I was on a serious retro kick, but kind of burnt myself out on the style. The ridiculous import prices didn't help, either. But I still listen to most those bands all the time.

I think I need to dip back into that style again, though.

Much tamer than your average Slayer song. You have to look at the lyrics like they are dialogue from a Peter Cushing movie.

Had this for about 2 weeks now. Of the few 2011 release I've gotten so far, this one is gonna be tough to beat. It's good. The lyrical content doesn't bother me. Although I will be sacraficing a turkey sandwich at lunch to the dark lord of hunger.

Agreed. This album manages to achieve that elusive "greater than the sum of it's parts" sound which makes it feel epic.

I sacrificed some catnip this morning to the evil Pywacket.
