| So how has LaLa.com been for anyone lately? For me there has been little to no activity. I am ahead by a few credits (or whatever they are called) so I took all of my CDs down from LaLa and updated my want list to include more common classic rock and other stuff that I am interested in (The who, the Police, Nirvana, Rod Stewart, etc.) in an effort to leave LaLa for good without being behind in my trade ratio.
I have increased my activity quite a bit at SwapaCD.com. I think their database is larger, and they have a forum where you can trade "unpostable" CDs for credits. You can also ensure you will get the exact artwork you want (front and rear inserts). You are even notified when a CD arrives that you want, but with different artwork than your preferences say. I am finding it overall much more satisfying than LaLa ever was.
So everyone go over there and sign up and put up some metal CDs! Also, if you do sign up, you can say AchrisK referred you, and I will get a credit. Or you can give the credit to Trog (trogdawn). He is also on there.

Wargod49 At SwapaCD? They guarantee artwork. I think out of my 400 or so received CDs, only one came without artwork. SwapaCD is not like lala. If someone send you an artless CD, they give you your credit back. But you have to set your default to require all the art. If not, well, then you'll get a ton without it. Anyway, I've praised SwapaCD for a long while here. Lala is crap now. Another upstart is MusicBoomerang.com. This was started by folks dissatisfied with the way lala changed. It's a bit wonky to get used to at first, but it's a great site. And it's only $1 a CD. |

| I got my last CD from LaLa SEVERAL months back and haven't been back to it since. It turned to utter shyte, in my opinion. I'm owed 2 from Swap-A-CD. I just haven't gotten off my ass and added money to my account. I've gotten like 5 or 6 emails saying that something on my wantlist I was first in line for was going to someone else because I didn't have any money in my account. _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

| I use SACD all the time now. Its been a big help in building my stones and zz top collections as well as some metal titles. It does vary on quality of cd received sometimes but the stuff that doesnt work I get my credit back for. I wasnt sure about it at first but after trying it I am hooked Alex _________________ | |

| I didnt get to LALA in time before they changed to not swapping cds but I did get a chance to join up at Swapacd and so far its been pretty good. I have gotten all the art work with the cds I have requested. Only a few times I havent received a cd but its cool that they re credit you. The only thing is not a lot of Metal people are on there yet so most of things that I do get are more of the liter styles of music I listen to. _________________ | |

| Yeah, I have been a SwapaCD member for a while now too, and I am first in line for many metal CDs. For a long time I really didn't manage my account or try to get credits, but I think the site is growing and things are looking better even for metalheads.
SwapaCD seems to have more features that are actually helpful when tradng CDs is your main goal. Like how you can see where you are in "line" for a given CD, and how you can boost your priority on a CD by moving it higher in your want list. It's also nice that you have the option to decide not to accept something, if you just decide you really don't want it after all, or of you have aquired it by other means and forgot to remove it from your list.
It's also great for me since my interest in classic rock has started to grow.

One of their best features. I got a lot of doubles through lala because of that. |

| Lala is pretty much dead although I have a Great White disc coming in the mail to me as we speak. Musicboomerang shows promise but the interface is horrible IMHO.
What made lala great for me was the prepaid postage, all I had to do was walk to the mailbox. Getting to the post office to mail off stuff is a bit more difficult.

| I bailed on Lala around the middle of last year, when it started changing over to a digital-download service and the CD trading was slowly being phased out. I considered signing up for Swap-A-CD afterwards but haven't yet. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I keep thinking about signing up with SwapaCd, but never got around to it. I was checking out Music Boomerang too. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.
