The Decade With No Name

I remember before Y2K an article discussing what we were going to call the upcoming decade. We all know what the stereotypes are for the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, & 90's (musically and otherwise). So the Two-teens are almost here and we are going to need a name to refer back to the "Nu-Metal decade". What are we going to call it, the Zeroes?

I'll call it "The New Wave Of Glam/Sleaze Bands That Were Overshadowed By Corporate smurf-for-hire Bands Like Nickleback".

Oh wait...NWGSBTWOBCWBLN probably isn't as catchy as NWOBHM.

Aside from the first few years, this decade has been the worst of my entire life. So I'll be glad once it's over and I'll probably call it "the decade I'd rather forget".

'The noughties' seems to be a term thrown around here occasionally. Is this the next decade merely going to be 'the tens'? Because that sounds ridiculous for some reason.

That's good. I've never heard that. How about "The Nutties"? That might work because it starts with the letters NU as in Nu-metal. I'll use it in a sentence. "The Nutties have been painful". Or: "It will be a relief when The Nutties are gone".

Decade of nothingness

The "Wherethefuckdidthatdecadego-s" I moved to Florida in 2000. It seems like I've been here for 2 years, not 9. Music has stunk for the most part, IMO, but I always prefer the past when it comes to music.
