But make sure you can play OK first. There's nothing worse than that kid who can't play anything strumming a guitar aimlessly in a guitar shop. I know a few of main riffs from Raining blood, to blitzering bop:lol!: Unfortunately no one has helped me to learn guitar, so It has taking me longer than usual, I have been practicing for 3 years and I rarely get motivation, since the amp I have sucks, I practice unplug 95% of the time

Getting a new amp will boost your morale and give you movtivation to play. As does getting a new guitar. I for one prefer the amp over a guitar anyday. You can plug any guitar into a good amp and it will sound great. You ever need any help or video lessons let me know.

| thanks men. I am currently trying to learn some thrash metal riffs and melodies. But I need some help to learn to do lead. I am planing on getting the Troy Stetina Book for lead metal
As For the Guitar amp, should it be better to get a Half Statck for less than 500 bucks or an combo amp with 2 speakes of 12 inches?

Go out and see what amp you like is best. If its a stack go with it. Troy Stetina is amazing and gave lessons to my fav guitar player Mark Tremonti. My suggestion to you is get good at Rhythm before going into leads. Get to where you can pretty much tell what chords you are playing and can change through chord progressions with ease. Learning scales and modes is very time consuming and takes tons of practice.

| I have been looking on sam ash website to have a clue what I will be looking for and I found these specials and nice priced amps
Blackheart Little Giant Guitar Amp Half Stack $350 1 12" SPEAKER, 5 WATTS HEAD
Marshall MG100DFX 1x12" Guitar Combo $380
Crate VTX65B 1x12" Guitar Combo $340
Any idea about these amps?
The blackheart is small and cheap compared to other half stacks. This may be the amp I will test the most.

| I went to guitar center today to get new strings, while I was there, I checked the Schecter hellraiser c-1 fr and the BC rich JR deluxe. the BC rich was to heavy, and unconfortable to play, and the pick ups were very muddy. On the other hand the Hellraiser had a nice versatible sound, and was lighter. I tried the Marshall amp and a Peavy. The peavy had a nice sound. There where some nice small Acoustic guitars for less than 200 bucks | |

| A friend of mine has the Schecter Hellraiser I played his guitar then my Ibanez Rg3ex1 and was amazed out how much better my guitar sounded. The Schecter had great tone but not the tone i was looking for, it had too much low end. Also its hovers around 900 and my Ibanez was 300. BC Rich all have muddy tone and that thick sound I just dont like. Again this is all personal preference so get what you like.
I prefer Peavy amps over Marshall. Peavy seems to be trying a lot harder as well in making new amp models. Marshall seems to rely on there popular amps and really doesn't stretch the boundaries IMO.

You should try lugging my guitar around for an hour or so. It's a 1979 Gibson Explorer E2, Walnut...feels like it weighs a thousand pounds after about 30 minutes. |

| IF I get a guitar locked with floyd rose and it comes droped down to B, how can I tune it to standard tuning? Or the store can do it? | |

Buy a cheap guitar tuner while you're there, they only cost about $30. In addition, if you're going to buy a guitar from them, tell them how you want it setup and make them do it prior to you taking it home. |

| I don't know If I did a good deal, but I got a guitar from EBAY, that was used for display on a music store. It is a JACKSON from the guitar player from Machine Head. The guitar is neck-through,original floyd, alder body, rounded edges on the neck, made in 2008. I got it for 800 bucks. The thing is that it doesn't come with a case, and they told me that they could do a especial order. They are asking for the Hardshell case 120, it is from Jackson. Can I get it cheaper somewhere else? | |

| I used to have 2 hardshell jackson cases when i owned a RR edition Jackson and a Kelly Jackson. Most of these are custom hardshells shaped out for a particular design. They are very hard to come by. | |

| For now I will wait some months to save some bucks and then I will probably get some Peavy 1 12". I don't care much about effects on amps, but rather on real tube sound. I was impressed of how warm and clear the sound was, even with overdrive | |

Why did you give them away? It seems if your favorite company is Ibanez. To me they are my second favorite, Jacksons are my dream guitars.

| The RR was an amazing guitar. It fell down one day and broke at the neck. I put a screw in it but it never stayed in tune so I used it for parts. I sold the Kelly it was way too muddy for me and awkward to play.
Thats an awesome guitar pic there, and I hope you like it. Almost reminds me of one of the Dean Razorback.

What worries me is how muddy or modern the guitar will sound. This model comes with a EMG 60 on the neck. I haven't heard of this pickup, but on youtube sound very metalcore ish, it is probably because it is tunned to B. I asked they guys from the store to do me the favor to do an standard tunnig
