| Watched "Congo" on DVD last night. A lot of people hate that movie but I enjoyed it. It's a good action/adventure story. Also tried to watch (note I said "tried") "Kull The Conqueror" but it was so bad that I turned it off halfway thru. | |

| Saw a couple of goodies over the long rainy weekend: "Shaun of the Dead" -- I love British humor and I love a good zombie movie, this was a hilarious combo of the two. Best scene: the opening, when Shaun walks to the convenience store down the street too hung over to notice the chaos gripping the streets or the zombies shuffling past him. "Class of 1999" -- a cool B-grade sci-fi/action flick about a gang-controlled high school that gets three new "teachers" which are actually military grade robots programmed to restore order. It stole bits from "The Warriors," "Escape From NY," and especially "The Terminator" but it was a ton of fun despite its unoriginality. Worth a look just to see Stacy Keach (as the robots' inventor) at his late 80s coked-up best. | |

From what little I remember about it, it was a pretty cool gang-warfare flick. "Class of 1999" just upped the ante with a bigger sci-fi angle. I didn't even realize I had "Class of 1999" on tape till I stumbled across it in a box of old video cassettes in the closet a few weeks ago... full of movies I recorded off of HBO back when I was in high school. There are some GREAT old school '80s B-Movie gems in there, I can't wait to start watching some others, like "Hamburger: The Motion Picture," "Howard The Duck," "I Come In Peace" and many other slices of pure '80s cheez! I love B-Movies!!

| The last movie I watched in the theater was Titanic in 1997. No joke. The last movie I watched on DVD was Outlaw Josey Wales about 6 months ago. Between the music, motorcycles & rugrats I just dont have time to watch any movies. | |

| Just saw Blades of Glory today. Hilarious. Big improvement over Talledega Nights which I found mediocre. Still, nothing can touch Anchorman. _________________ | |

At a drive-in theater? Cool. I didn't know they still existed in 2007.

| Yikes, just ignore my previous post... something went wacky with the quoting function on me...mods, if one of you wants to simply delete the above post, feel free... I was gonna say that yea, drive in movies are few and far between but there are still a few out there. There's one not far from where I live, right over the border in upstate NY. I haven't been there in years but I'm told it's still quite a hot item during the warmer months. It's the only drive-in theatre in Lord knows how many miles so people come from all over to see a movie there, just for the novelty of it. | |
