ouch. Thats the one thing in life you dont want to get summoned for is Federal jury duty. They dont play games and it normally takes forever... Alex _________________

I know that, but I didn't know you could be summoned so early. And here I am, 33, and never gotten a summons.
God hates you. Actually there is separation of church and state so the above statement is incorrect!! _________________

| I just got done serving two days of jury duty this week. I was surprised I got selected since they had a huge pool of people. I'm guessing it was because I was the defendant's same age. It was a Meth (like just about every trial in AZ) case involving a hotel sting operation. The police did their best to screw the case up. The camera was on a nightstand next to a blaring TV so almost nothing could be seen or heard. There were mysterious gaps in the tape (I think this was more due to the inexperience of the officers than anything shady). The informant guy appeared twice as guilty as the defendant and he was clearly on something when testifying. It took us four and half hours to find the defendant guilty of possession while unable to come to a verdict on the distribution charge since the case was so clearly boggled. I was fine with that. And at least I'm done for another two years.
Oh and I'm sure as we spent two days trying a guy for .113 grams of meth there were truck loads of the stuff being bused in - probably by the very paid informer. I'm a little unsure how being named in open court as a snitch means you are still walking around alive.

Sucks! When they ask you questions, tell them "I don't believe that we can ever be sure a person is guilty or innocent" - you;ll be off the jury quick

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've been summoned over the past ten years or so -- I've always managed to weasel out of it in the past, maybe I'll get lucky again... _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I was on a jury a few months ago. I found it quite interesting being a part of the process. The guy on trial in the case I was on is going away to jail for a long time. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| My jury-duty date is this coming Tuesday. I have to call the hotline # on the summons Monday night to find out if I'm needed. Man, I hope they're having a slow week and don't need many jurors. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Ugggggg, I got my notice. I have jury duty on March 30th. While I'm fairly certain I won't get selected, it just becomes a waste of a day and an annoyance. For $9. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too.

| Part of me wants to just do the jury duty and get it over with, the other part sez "I don't have time for this crap." If I do get called it'll be a particularly weird experience for me since I'll be going to the courthouse that my Dad worked in. He was a court stenographer till he passed away in 1999. I haven't been in that building since I was a teenager. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

You might luck out. I have to do the call-in thing the night before as well, but I've never known anyone to get called off. They've got such a backlog of cases in Philly, they'll ALWAYS need jurors. _________________ I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was. | I've managed to luck out w/the call-in thing a couple of times before in the past... hoping to continue that streak. I should'a brought the summons thingie with me today cuz I'd call right now (it's after 5 PM now)... the suspense is frickin KILLING me here!!! If I do have to report, I suppose I could always stay up all night tonight drinking and then show up hungover, un-showered, un-shaven, and scowling, in my raggedy-ass Iron Maiden t-shirt and jeans with holes in the knees. That might be my quickest way out the door. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| Welp, I called the hotline # a little while ago... and no such luck this time. Gotta report to Passaic County Courthouse tomorrow at 8:45 AM. So you won't be seeing much of me for the next several days. Sigh. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| ...and thus endeth my Jury Duty experience. I spent Tuesday and Wednesday sitting and listening to a case (not even an interesting one -- just a b.s. civil case involving an auto accident), they let us go yesterday PM saying we'd have to come back in the morning to listen to closing arguments and then we'd deliberate. However, while I was driving home they called my house and left a message saying that the parties have "come to an agreement" (i.e. they settled out of court) and therefore I didn't have to come back today. At least it's over. Still kind of annoyed that I had to spend two days of my life listening to a case that Judge Judy would've blown thru before her first commercial break. ...and the plaintiff was a cute chick, so at least there was eye candy. Not in any hurry to do it all over again though!!!! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

| I went to one probably 10 years ago thankfully I havent been contacted since. I'll never forget it though I was miserable as hell. Luckily at the the girl I was with lived right near the court houses so I didnt have to drive far. I went there dressed with my metal t shirt and denim jacket hoping they would just say get this kid out of here. Unfortunetly I had to sit there for 2 days til they got to my name. When they finally got to me I was even more annoyed because I just didn't care about anything that was going on. The judge was asking me questions like where I worked etc. I forget exactly what I told him but something like I didn't work and I don't want to hahaha. He also asked if I would be able to be fair and listen to all the crap that was going to go on and I was like, I doubt it I really don't have an interest in this lol. He was annoyed but ended up letting me go. I never wanted to get out of something so much in my life haha. _________________ | |

| I got my check in today's mail for my jury duty service -- ten whole bucks. Woot, I'm rich. Nevermind that I burned about $20 in gas going back and forth over the course of those two days and probably another $15 for two days' worth of lunch. I plan to spend it on beer. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
