OK, I thought I'd start a thread in which we can all share an artist and album from that artist that we think most people have never heard of. Recently I dug out an album that I listened to throughout the summer of '99 about a million times but I doubt most people have heard of them. It can be any type of music within the rock spectrum (rock, hard rock, metal, etc.). The rules are these: Name the band, the album, the year of release, and a video from the album (if not, a link to one of the songs from the album). I'm in the mood to hear some new music and be exposed to bands I might not have heard of:

Band--Dark Half
Album--...Reborn
Year--1992
Mexican death/thrash that put out only this one album on Avanzada Metalica records. Unique, but suffers from bad production. no vids that I know of.

Band: Bad Biscut Album: THE AMERICAN DREAM? (1994) Home: New Jersey Style: Hard rock/metal/punk
I've pimped this band on this board before so without rehashing myself too much, I'll just say that I saw this band a bunch of times while I was in college, they kicked ass (kind of a GNR/Ramones/Skid Row mix) and everyone thought they were gonna be the next big thing out of Jersey for awhile but they never caught fire outside of our area. Wonder of wonders, I actually found a video for their cover of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" (which won an MTV contest) on YouTube that I never even knew existed...
After releasing THE AMERICAN DREAM? in 1994 they disappeared off the face of the Earth and haven't done anything since, though an odds-and-ends collection of rare/demo/live stuff called WE STILL BELIEVE THE HYPE was finally released earlier this year.

The Undertones are great.....depends what you call a lost gem though, Teenage Kicks is like praised as one of the greatest singles ever. But probably a lost gem around these musical circles.
Here's one you never heard of before......
Band: Cosmic Psychos
Album: Go The Hack
Year: 1989
File Between: Rose Tattoo and Sub Pop!

Band: Burning Spear
Album: Resistance
Year: 1983
Burning spear AKA Winston Rodney is a reggae roots artist that formed in the mid seventies coming out of the same recording studio as Bob Marley...the legendary one studio, I think they are better then Bob Marley actually. Unique in the fact that a lot of his music ecspecially the 80's era had many synth and keyboard lines...pretty rad IMO for reggae roots music.

On this side of the pond the Undertones didn't make a ripple but I have to agree " Teenage Kicks" one of the great singles of the Power Pop genre.
