SYL offshoot band "TENET"

Features Steve Souza on vocals, Glen A. (Forbidden) on guitar and Gene Hoglan on drums. Also the guitarist and bass player from SYL. Very heavy and experimental like Fear Factory.

This album is long overdue. The demo came out like five years ago.

And don't listen to ToB. Jed and Byron are badass.

Are you suggesting SYL was like Fear Factory? A lot of people say this, but I don't get it at all. Despite Devin being inspired by Fear Factory, SYL have never sounded like them.

He was responding to what i wrote in the first post. I was actually comparing their experimental elements not actually sounding like FF.

The third sample song has a strong Dark Angel (TDNH) vibe.

Wasn't Rob Urbinati involved at one point, too?

But you completely missed my point anyway. Even if you dislike the band, you must be able to acknowledge that the SYL members, specifically Jed Simon and Gene Hoglan in this case, are very talented metal musicians. Otherwise you're just being silly.

And Devin has more talent in his pinky than all of them combined.

Can't deny that at all.

The songs on their myspace site sounded pretty good to my ears.

I missed this thread until ToB pointed it out. I'll have to check out this band.

I've never been a fan of Strapping Young Lad either. Love Exodus, Forbidden and Dark Angel.

Just discovered TENET while doing some reading on Zetro, one of my favourite singers. I loved the samples on YouTube. Will definitely include the album on my next order.
