| Your dream band: who would be in it? what would be the genre? what would be the band name? and what would be the title of the first album?
mine: can't think of a name (technical thrash/power/symphonic metal)
vocals - Ronnie James Dio lead/rhythm guitar - Glen Tipton lead/rhythm guitar - Brian Robertson bass - Steve Harris drums - Ingo Schwichtenberg
The first album would be "Discovery of Man", after the lyric from Iron Maiden's "Quest For Fire". I imagine the album cover having plenty of cool, hypnotic flames. Lots and lots of power. |

| The Ultimate Traditional metal dream band:
Vocals: Tony Taylor - Twisted Tower Dire (awesome songwriter as well as a great singer) Guitars: Kenny Powell - Omen Guitars: Matt Johnsen - Pharaoh Bass: Lee Payne - Cloven Hoof (Like Taylor, picked as much for his song writing as his talent) Drums: Scott Columbus - Manowar
The Ultimate Power/Progressive Metal Band:
Vocals: Greg Wagner (Shatter Messiah) incredibly skilled and versatile singer who is capable of the "demonic" vocals Matt Moliti is fond of as well as clean vocals he displayed in Archetype. Guitars: Rusty Cooley (Outworld) Guitars: Matt Moliti (Dark Empire) Bass: Mike Lepond (Symphony X) Drums: Robert Falzano (Shatter Messiah)
The Ultimate power/thrash metal band:
vocals: Matt Barlow (Iced Earth) guitars: T.J. Berry (Catch 22) guitars: Jon Schaffer (Iced Earth) bass: Jim Sheppard (Nevermore) drums: Bobby Jarzombek
Iced Earth and Catch 22 both play a mixture of traditional metal with thrash metal - specifically the Bay Area style of thrash. To over simplify things, Iced Earth mix Iron Maiden with bay area thrash and Catch 22 mixes Judas Priest/Metal Church with Bay Area thrash. Schaffer and Berry are both the main creative forces of their respective bands. In theory, putting them both in the same band would give you the best of both bands.
The Ultimate Gothic Metal band
Vocals: Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation) Guitar/vocals: Ville Laihiala (Sentenced/Poisonblack) Violin: Emilie Autumn Bass: Carlo ``D.D.`` Verni (Overkill/Bronx Casket Co) Drums: Vesa Ranta (Sentenced) Keyboard: Tuomas Holopainen (Nightwish)

| "Thee Hip Shakes" Tex Perkins (Beasts Of Bourbon) - Vocals Andy McCoy (Hanoi Rocks) - Guitars Roland S. Howard (The Birthday Party, These Immortal Souls) - Guitars Dave Tregunna (Lords Of The New Church) - Bass Kenney Jones (Faces) - Drums Ian McLagan (Faces) - Piano Additional musicians Michael Monroe (Hanoi Rocks) - Saxophone Ronnie Wood (Faces) - Slide Guitar Ian Astbury (The Cult) - Tambourine Jeffrey Lee Pierce - Spiritual Muse Backing vocal group the "Shakettes" Ronnie Spector (Ronettes) Amy Winehouse Mary Weiss (Shangri-Las) Looking at that, that band would be a complete train wreck. But that's how i like em. A Junkie Glam Southern Gothic Blues Saloon Rock N' Roll supergroup. Although i don't think it's a good idea having Andy McCoy and Roland S. Howard together, hide your spoons! | |

| A more melodic metal project: John Arch - vocals Kurdt Vanderhoof - guitar David Chastain - guitar Scott Travis - drums Tony Choy - bass (I know, he's from a death metal band, but whatever) Think of it as being in the vein of Queensrÿche and Fates Warning, with shades of Obsession and Screaming for Vengeance/Defenders of the Faith-era Judas Priest thrown in A more brutal, aggressive metal project: Rob Urbinati - vocals, guitars Dave Carlo - guitars Steve DiGiorgio - bass Gene Hoglan - drums Think of it being in the vein of Dark Angel, Devastation, Sacrifice, Demolition Hammer and old Sepultura. | |

Those are interesting choices for such a band. I can picture Tony - Glenn and Yngwie are taering it up, banging their heads, while good ol' Tony's hiding in the background, doing his thing
