Sad news I am Pink Floyd fan, and it is sad for rock fans. Great
musician and was the song writer to the classic " Great Gig in the
Sky". This will definitley be the final chapter of Pink Floyd.

Farwell Richard.

Goodbye Pink Floyd.

This is a tragic loss. Richard's contributions to the overall Floyd sound are irreplaceable. His organ work is particularly underrated, he was a master keyboard player, songwriter and arranger. One of my heroes for as long as I can remember.

Best trivia I have on Richard Wright, during the making of the
Wall, Gilmour, Waters and producer Bob Ezrin fought tooth and
nail over every aspect of the recording, after the album was completed
Richard Wright was fired, the problem is that they had shows booked in
LA and Uk to perform the Wall, so they hired Richard Wright as a
sideman for his own band, since he knew all the keyboard parts, the
production of performance of The Wall was so expensive that the only
person in Pink Floyd to have made a profit and any money from the short
tour was Richard Wright since he was considered a sideman and did not
have to invest in the very expensive production and was paid is salary,
talk about poetic justice.

Damn. For those who remember when the film and album "The Wall" came out, it makes you realize your own mortality. Live every day like it's your last, cuz it just might be.

Just speculation on my part, you are correct Pink Floyd was already history, David Gilmour had no desire to resurrect the name, it is just Richard Wright was such huge important part of their sound, I think it ends any talks of a reunion ever happening in the future.

RIP Richard Wright you will be greatly missed
