| I bought Hendrix "Smash Hits" on cassete. It was in one of those black Warner Brothers "slide out" cases with the paper label, if anyone remembers those? First vinyl was either Osmond Brothers "Crazy Horses" (I still enjoy it!), or Nilsson "Son of Schmillson", which I bought just for the cussing on it. | |

| Cassette: If I remember correctly the first one I bought was Pink Floyd The Wall.
CD: I bought 2 when I got my first player for Christmas, Dokken - Back For The Attack and Metallica - The $9.98 CD. |

| The first CD I bought was also Songs From The Wood. I fought against CDs as long as I could. I didn't buy my first one until about 1986 or so. I still maintain that clean vinyl sounds better. Now I fight just as vehemently against the download trend. Probably to equal futility. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

It's even harder to maintain that stance when all your peers are downloading. | First one I ever bought with my own money was the Original GhostBusters Soundtrack in 1984 I think it was. First recorded music I ever owned was Michael Jacksons Thriller. I think that was 1982.....

| I remember getting my first stereo (with a cassette player) my junior year in high school and purchasing Survivor "Eye of the Tiger" with it. The real album, not the Rocky soundtrack. My favorite purchase, sneaky though it was, was my junior year in high school. Mom had given me $100 for school clothes (this was 1981, BTW) and I came home with a couple of pair of jeans and...Back in Black on vinyl! | |

| Wow, I can't remember some of my firsts, but the first one I *bought*?
Um... I think it may have been Open Up and Say Ahh on cassette.
My first CDs were the Twister soundtrack (pretty decent) and Independence Day soundtrack.

Now I fight just as vehemently against the download trend. Probably to equal futility. It's starting to be a problem for me. There are two "albums" that were mentioned here recently that I really want (new ones from Lynam & Seamount) that I can't get on CD by my usual channels. I know I can get them from the bands, but I don't really want to send my credit card info to a whole bunch of different bands eventually. I dunno, at my age I don't see myself starting over again either. It's scary. For the record I held off on CD's until 1989. Then I bought a one disc CD player and three discs. Tesla- Great Radio Conteversy Cult- Sonic Temple Iggy Pop- Instinct I didn't get up to 100 Cd's though until '95 or so.

I bought my copy of the new Lynam from their site that way. And BTW, I think the new Lynam is GREAT. _________________ "The cat is the most ruthless, most terrifying of animals." - Spock in the "Catspaw" episode of ToS Season 2.

And BTW, I think the new Lynam is GREAT. Good! I do have a Paypal account with Ebay, But I never use it and I forgotted about it. I need that disc. That Jacob Bunton (Lynam) or whatever his name is has massive talent IMO. On topic: The last new cassete tape I ever bought was Reverend "Play God".

| My first ever purchase was Def Leppard's Hysteria on CD. Oddly enough, my second ever purchase was Run DMCs King of Rock. |
