The last Priest album that I dig is "Angel of Retribution"
(IMHDO) Priest going out as a 4 piece is similar to Leppard getting rid of Willis, no more balls.
What is next, replacing Scott Travis with a drum machine? After all these years, he is still a hired gun. My money is on the three partners (Halford/Hill/Tipton) wanting more of the pie to split? Paying two parts out of thirds is cheaper than paying three parts.

AoR is a great album. Would have been a lot better if they cut about three hours off Loch Ness lol

The band have apparently changed their minds and are going to tour again as a 5 piece with Andy Sneap back in the fold.

Or Sneap heard about them actually going on without him and decided he's just going to clear his schedule.

It’s funny how Blabbermouth and the band want people to believe that nobody cares if KK doesn’t come back. Historically, fans have always preferred the original (or classic) members in the bands! Just like when Adrian Smith and Bruce Dickinson were out of Maiden. I guarantee that most Priest fans want the band to reunite with KK. Why would we want a record producer guy on second guitar?? C’mon!

I think Tipton is the person that is pulling the strings of the band’s decisions. He has the biggest beef with KK and he’s probably bitter that he can’t play in the band like before. Ian Hill and Halford are the scapegoats. I think Ritchie would be more than happy to play with KK and I’m sure Halford could have sympathy… because he also was out of the band for a decade.

That could be. But I believe it was the book KK put out that has done the most damage. And every blabbermouth headline had/has KK badmouthing the band. Priest hasn't badmouthed him at all. I think the band and management have taken the stance of keeping that negativity away from the band.

Well, first of all Blabbermouth is known to fan the flames of any drama. Usually headlines are cherry picked from interviews and KK was probably just answering a question asked. Regarding his book… I don’t think he said anything too harsh. He basically just said Tipton was getting drunk and not performing his best before he left the band. But also keep in mind that the band lied to him when they agreed to retire after the Epitaph tour. I’m also sure KK wasn’t the only one to ever badmouth another member. You think Glen didn’t ever talk trash to him? Everyone makes mistakes. You can’t write a proper memoir without airing some laundry. Otherwise it’s just a sugarcoated waste of time. Tony Iommi’s book sort of went that way…

Yes blabbermouth is the TMZ of the metal world. But KK said much more than Glenn was drunk and not performing well. And I get the fact that dirty laundry helps sell books (hence why we have blabbermouth. Read the condensed version) Halford didn't bash KK in his book though. And Priest isn't the only band who changed their minds on retirement. Why didn't he want to rejoin them then? He sold the band his publishing for his other business ventures. It's kinda like he was completely done with the band. Just my thoughts.

I see your point of view, but I just think that KK should get another chance. If they could just get together in a room and talk it out… I know most fans would be happy. Look at Axl and Slash. Some people thought they would never make amends. Maybe it’s based on money and business… but it can be done. I don’t think the Priest guys necessarily hangout together when they aren’t touring. Most bands eventually become just a business relationship. At this point, every Priest album they do could be the last. It would be ideal to have KK back in the band.

Why take KK back at all? His pet project Nostradamus was absolute trash and the two albums without him have been good to great. KK is only whining because he made terrible investments and lost all his money. I don't see the point in bringing him back.

Apparently Nostradamus has gained a pretty decent cult following. Did KK mastermind the Demolition album? I think that might have been more bashed by the fans when it was released. Was Turbo KK’s idea? I’m pretty sure Tipton was the shot-caller on those. You maybe partly right about the financial mishap, but it sounds more like a convenient excuse from fans that dislike him.
You point to the last two albums sounding good without him… When you have a controlled environment in the studio with two great producers at the helm, it’s hard to go wrong. And Priest isn’t just about the studio albums. Their main attraction was the live shows. KK was an integral part of the dual guitar sound for decades. It’s second nature.

Funny because I seem to read more about Halford pushing for that album, and how disappointment he is in not being able to do the shows they had planned. He's also been quoted as saying he wished that it could still be in the cards for a future tour. Pretty sure Nostradamus was a group effort, and to call it trash is comical. It has some filler, but there is some amazing songs on it. Point of bringing him back is he's a great guitarist that helped shape metal the way it is today. He is due just a bit of respect for that at least.

I understand your points as well. Ian Hill is the only original member left and fans do want reunions. They do need to at least reach out to one another and settle those differences.

I always wanted Priest to continue on with the younger members (Ripper, Travis etc), and keep holding the flame. To make the band more like a franchise, where members can change, but the story just keeps going on. It's never about one band member, but the logo and the vision. Like a sports franchise.
The Cowboys could have used Troy Aikman though, the way the eliminated themselves...
