Judas Priest - Metology

Who has this boxed set? My wife got it for me for Christmas, and I love it! I've always loved Priest, but didn't have a lot of their albums. I had the Metal Works set, plus Screaming for Vengeance, Jugulator, and Demolition. It's nice to hear a lot of the stuff I haven't heard before! Plus, I'm thrilled about the '82 DVD.

Priest should be in the metal area rather than the rock n roll. however, i bought this for my brother & he loves it. i already had Priests entire discography, but all my brother had was bits & pieces. this gave him a bit more to enjoy.

There was a general feeling amongst most Priest fans that if you have all of their albums already, this box set offered little in the way of unreleased or rare material with the exception of some live tunes. I'm of that opinion as well. Nonetheless, it's a pretty strong collection, especially for people like yourself that haven't heard it all before. I certainly wouldn't turn it down as a gift though. Sweet catch, dude.

Yeah, this is a great box set. A very good overview of the majority of their career.

Almost bought it at one time, but I figured I could get it later on down the line and just bought some classic Priest (and some other) albums instead.

I got lucky cuz I got a promotional version for nuthin'. I have a friend who's a reporter, and they initially sent him a bare-bones promo version (no box or booklet, just the 4 CDs in a big jewelcase and a VHS copy of the video) to review. Once he reviewed it they sent him a freebie of the "real" box as a "thank you." He then passed the promo version on to me. It would've been nice to have the whole package, I suppose, but it would've just taken up too much shelf space. The 4 CDs fit on my shelf just fine, and I've watched the video once, maybe twice. It's a nice package for the real diehards, but it would've been nicer if one of the CDs had been devoted to rare/unreleased stuff.
