| Both killer thrash, both a bunch of brits, both on pure metal label for a while, both putting out two albums and then done.
What whould you rather listen to? I dig them both a lot, but I think my vote would go to Seventh Angel. Whats your opinion? Just something about Ian Arkley's music......

| Seventh Angel for sure. I like detritus, but they are a bit too melodic for me at times. I love the gloomy doom element that seventh angel added their thrash as well. | |

That isn't as bad as the metal heresy that Lars Ulrich committed earlier this week. |

| I'd have to say Seventh Angel, even though I love Detritus as well. Lament For The Weary is a freakin' masterpiece in my opinion. It's dark, menacing, semi-technical in places, and just flat out heavy as a truck. _________________ You're cancer, you can't be the answer, you're killing me

| I've been playing both a lot lately. I think that Detritus -If But For One is one of the most innovative (and brave!) thrash albums, although the quality of Seventh Angel -Lament for the Weary is also beyond dispute! Because Ian is still putting out great quality music, I'll have to go for Seventh Angel. | |

| Detritus by a country mile. I never liked Seventh Angel, but Detritus was awesome, especially on If But For One. | |

| My friend says he doesn't like you. I don't like you either! Well, then since I have all the Seventh Angel I want/need I don't need Detritus! | |

I've been listening to "If but for one" a lot lately, picked it up from Vordul earlier this week, I think thats what spawned the idea for the discussion. The only thing I dont like about Detritus is the fact that they dont have that old school thrash sound like Seventh angel(Maybe a little more groove or something then SE?). Now granted, "If but for one" came out in 1993 just about when thrash was no longer cool to some and also when all kinds of sub genres were emerging, If they could have just pulled off that older style I dont know who I would vote for. I have never heard Perpetual Defiance, So I dont know what they originally sounded like or if they changed at all. But just listening to the album I have, Detritus is way more innovative/different then Seventh Angel, but Seventh Angel still takes it for me.
