| Any fans of them here? I'm assuming kmorg must be, with his love for Savatage I personally think they're insanely good, especially so that I finally got my hands on Maniacal Renderings. Hopefully they should put on a great show at Progpower UK in a few weeks. _________________ | |

| Hell yes, J.O.P. is an excellent band... I have both of their CDs and love'em both (though I think I like the first one, TAGE MAHAL just a little tiny bit better...). Since Savatage are apparently a done deal (at least for the time being), Jon's stuff is about as close as we're gonna get to new Savatage material for a while, and that's fine by me... | |

| Yep. Absolutely killer stuff. And if you listen to Jon, the two Pain albums are essentially Savatage albums. I really dig how he gives intentional nods to old Savatage songs in these new one. "Through The Eyes Of The King" obviously nods toward "Hall Of The Mountain King," and "Push It To The Limit" has a quick riff that is almost identical to one in "Beyond The Doors Of The Dark." Devin Townsend does this a lot. He kind of creates a bridge between albums, but intentionally making something similar or using a brief melody similar to an old one or something. It's really cool. |

| Killer stuff, as is Cafferey's solo stuff. I have all of the solo material from both guys (that I am aware of) as well as Savage Circus, who I also think is very good.

Arttie Savage Circus? That's the Blind Guardian connection, not Savatage. Did you mean Zak Steven's band, Circle II Circle? Because they're awesome. |

Anyone in to Doctor Butcher? Doctor Butcher was awesome. I'd love to hear another album from them. Obviously Jon is busy with the "Pain" band and Caffery has his solo thing going but it would rule if they'd get back in the studio and bang out another Butcher CD. That was the heaviest stuff either one of them had ever done!

| I bought Tage Mahal and I couldn't get into it much (the most recent Savatage CD I have is Streets, I'm a fan of their older stuff). Same with his Doctor Butcher project. Haven't heard the new album though. | |

| I may have the new 2CD Doctor Butcher for trade soon. I recently (finally) ordered Chris Caffery's W.A.R.P.E.D. album. It's taken me so long because there's only a few songs on it that I don't own on Faces, God Damn War, The Mold single, or the Music Man EP. Anyway, I got the package today and the 2CD version of the Doctor Butcher album was in it—autographed. Obviously I can't return that one, so I'm going to offer to send back my personal version—which is in perfect condition. I doubt they'll accept it, though. So I may have an extra copy of the 2CD version soon. |

| I've been checking out Caffery's solo stuff as of recent, and I'm digging it quite a bit so I figure I should try and find myself that Doctor Butcher reissue. Metal Misfit, I too prefer the older Savatage stuff but I personally thought that Tage Mahal was a great mix of both the Savatage eras. Maybe that's just me. Roll on March 31st _________________ | |

What's on the second disc of that Doctor Butcher CD? I have the original import version (GUN Records, 1994), which is a single disc. Is the second one "The Demos?"

Disc two has: Inspecter Highway * Freaks ** Born Of The Board ** Help! Police? ** Bridges ** * Previously unreleased ** Taken from the original Butcher demos Basically "Inspecter Highway" is all you don't have from the demos CD. They sound better here, though. |

| Thanx for the info, I was just curious. I also have the demos disc, so I guess I am not gonna buy another copy just to have that one extra song. | |
