American hardcore metallers PRO-PAIN will release their new studio album, "The Final Revolution", on November 25 in Europe and December 3 in North America via SPV/Steamhammer. According to vocalist/bassist Gary Meskil, PRO-PAIN's 14th studio recording marks the band's return to its old form. "The music is quite dark, and the groove and tempos are very reminiscent of the classic PRO-PAIN style as opposed to our last album, 'Straight To The Dome', which was a bit more thrashy," he says.
"The Final Revolution" was recorded, mixed, and mastered by V.O. Pulver (GURD) from August 18 to August 29, 2013 at Little Creek Studio in Gelterkinden, Switzerland. Meskil wrote all of the music and lyrics at his home in Sarasota, Florida.
"In order to keep things interesting, I decided to take the reins and handle all of the writing duties alone this time," he says. "It's the first PRO-PAIN album since the '90s in which I've written everything."
The standard "The Final Revolution" release will feature twelve brand-new tracks. There will be other configurations available as well, in the form of a digipak and gatefold album. Those configurations will contain some bonus material (including live tracks plus a UK SUBS cover), foldout poster, etc. Meskil adds: "I'm sure the fans will love it!"
PRO-PAIN will play some Florida shows in October, which will mark the band's first U.S. gigs in more than four years. The band also has a European tour scheduled from November 29 until December 21, with ZUUL FX (France), KOMAH (Belgium), and SOULLINE (Switzerland) supporting.
Meskil concludes: "We hope everyone will enjoy our new album as much as we do! See you on tour!"

One of my favorite bands of all time... Being that these guys never really release the same type of album musically I expect this to be a huge upgrade from the biggest disappointment of 2012. That turd of an album called Straight to the Dome...

Dude...what? Straight to the Dome is awesome! How in the world could a fan of their other albums not like the last one? O.o

That album did ZERO for me and it reminded me a lot of Round 6 which isn't bad but isn't one of my favorites. It's too punkish IMO.. I like Pro-Pain when they're mid paced and heavy (The Truth Hurts, Contents Under Pressure, Act of God, Prophets of Doom, No End in Sight)
The album has some good tracks, but with what they have done previous and how much I love them. I was highly disappointed.

Yeah, that's strange, man. Because it's a great album, much like their other stuff. It's not like the reinvent the wheel on every album anyway. Each has its own identity, but they're all very much similar. Except the first two, of course; those were a band finding their way, I think, and they eventually settled on a style that channels equally those first two. They're good bookends to their style.

Trust me I wanted to LOVE it.. Pro-Pain are what I wanted my band to sound like when I was playing local firehouses I listened to it maybe 5 times and I never once got one of those "classic" Pro-Pain smiles.. Where I'm like HOLY F**K!!!
Like in the song Unrestrained at about the 40 second mark.. That's what Straight was missing to me...

If there is any evidence of the almighty Crumbsuckers on that release, then I need to check it out post haste.

Personally, I think Robby is a bit crazy when it comes to that album. Haha. It's thrashier, and maybe one could liken it to Crumbsuckers in a long roundabout way, but it's pretty much classic Pro-Pain from start to finish.
The album slays.

I was a big fan of the first album when it came out. Since then, I only occasionally check out what they're doing.

The song Payback is the sound im talking about, it has that almost gallop feel drum beat that reminds me of Punk Music. Sure it's not punk but it feels more punk than any other Pro-Pain release IMO...
Also, I am crazy when it comes to STTD, it makes me so mental knowing that I just can't get into it :'(

Even the band in that video clip said it's back to the groove and STTD was more experimental and thrashy LOL!!!

No one ever said it wasn't thrashier, but it still got all kinds of classic Pro-Pain groove all over the album, as evidenced in the videos I posted above.

I've listened to the album numerous times to want to love it. I'm not saying it's terrible, I'm simple stating IMO, it lacks what I love about Pro-Pain. My biggest complaint about it is it's not nearly as memorable and the songs just come at you too fast...
I've never been a fan of speed in my metal and STTD has too much of it IMO...

Interesting. I didn't go Gary was in another band.
I kinda dig it. Darkwave meets alt rock. Most of you will hate this.
