I finally landed Steel And Starlight at a pretty decent price off Ebay (17.50 and free shipping). Just waiting for it to arrive.

The album leaked online a while ago. I may listen to it again soon, but when I first heard it I was not into it at all. I guess in style it most aligns with Concrete Killers but I probably never would have guessed that it was Shok Paris if I went into it blind. I can't remember a single riff or song off the top of my head.
In any event, at least it is not as much of a departure from the band's classic sound as what Sven Gali put out this year!

That's definitely my favorite from SK.
I always think of "The Hidden" when I think about Shok Paris:
It took me forever to find it on CD at a reasonable price too. And it instantly went into the "retirement income" section of The Vault.

I finally listened to Full Metal Jacket today.
It's a good album.
Also, I'd like to add that "Fall From Grace", the song that was leaked prior to the album's release, is the weakest song on the album.

Almost a year later, I finally ordered the album today.

I just ordered the recent reissue of Steel and Starlight.
I've only owned the album on cassette, so it'll be good to finally get the CD.

Yeah, I have no idea who this band is, but I was ordering a guitar pedal from Amazon and decided to add this CD to the order. Purely based on this post, thread and recommendation. And why the heck not. Free shipping, and I've had a few shots of scotch. Bring it on.
My soon-to-be-ex-wife's about to rob me of my money anyway. I've bought a (used) Porsche, a brand new set of golf irons and all the guitar gear I ever wanted in the recent few weeks. What's another few CDs, right?! Scorched Earth, baby!

Steel and Starlight sounds a lot like Tarot. Especially the songs Tokyo Rose, Falling for You and Hot on Your Heels.
