ack I have found that I really have to be in the mood to listen to this band. Otherwise the vocals often grate on me. When I'm in the mood, it's awesome; but otherwise the vocals can irritate me on certain songs. They sometimes remind me of a crazed muppet created by Jim Henson or something. I'm listening to Into Eternity's "Scattering of Ashes" right now and they have the similiar dual vocalist thing happening, but I find it much more enjoyable than 3IoB. | |

True. 3 Inches Of Blood's vocalists are much more caustic. Into Eternity's vocalists are much more natural sounding; thus easier on the ears. |

| Great Album
Some of the vocals remind me of Metal Church |

| They need to ditch the core vocals, write better riffs, and better solos and they would be great IMHO. | |

| Got the promo in the mail today. Here's a new song: GOD OF THE COLD WHITE SILENCE The "singer" is much better on this album. He's much easier to listen to now. He sounds more natural and stronger; he has more control. Not sure why I never heard it before, but on this album he sounds like Udo doing Halford. Haha. Great album, too. |

| Don't buy the first pressing. This song is a b-side, and will likely appear on the inevitable reiusse in 6 months to a year: NOCTURNAL COMMAND This song is awesome! I can't believe it's a b-side. |

| Dream Theater is also now on R.R. for those who remember the Roadracer years have you heard the bands on that label now?? Fire Up the Blades is a great release and with all of the quilities mentioned above. There doesn't seem to be many bands out there that have a second vocalist that just sings, and doesn't play anything.-TJ, | |

I had Advance and Anguish and I agree. My ears felt like they were going to bleed. And not in the good way. WOW, what a tough listen. The vocals are VERY overpowering. I hope the gentleman who received my copy on LaLa appreciates it. |

| Well, seeing how "Fire Up the Blades" was Ult's 'album of the year' - I ended up getting this today at Best Buy. I had a gift card from my inlaws and another one from a local friend. I ended up getting 8 cds in total ... Anyway out of all the new cds I got - this one blew me away the most!!! INCREDIBLE album!!! I just love this thing! Too bad it's almost 07 and I've already completed my top 10 list, cause this album would EASILY make my top 10. No doubt about it!!! Thanks Ult for recommending this. Now I must track down their older albums!!! This is probably my favorite modern thrash band now. They remind me of Tourniquet circa "Stop the Bleeding" era - if Tourniquet and continued on in this vein!!! Or King Diamond if he pursued a more modern/thrash direction!!!! I just can't see this band (or album) getting old for me ... I LOVE THIS THING AND CANNOT STOP cranking it!!!!! |

| personally i don't care for this prefabricated-canned crap made by the producers following label's orders....even the logo and the covers are copypaste from the mighty sacred steel....sure the major magazines will hail them, sure the US audience will have something to occupy with till the next trendwagon, the hipsters will find "cOOl" the new trend of making fun with "metal cliches" etc....i don't care the less...i wished only a lot of more talented bands had the exposure and studio budget these people have...even myself, after ordering stuff from my compatriots of the end records, i was given as "gift" a promo copy of "A&V"....and it was the only one through the years,hehehe....but what i still find laughable is their name,hehehe....how exactly can they measure a liquid using inches,hehehehe.......i'll have 3 inches of pure steel for them.... to all these i have a quote from the mighty slauter xstroyes: "metal's no sin"..... |

Dude - it's not the 80s anymore. Metal has moved on. If all bands sounded like they came out in 1988, they would be stagnate and suck. I love the 80s metal just as much as anyone here and listen to that stuff still. But bands like 3 Inches of Blood, Shadows Fall, Skeletonwitch and many others - are bringing in the metal for the new millenium. No offense to you personally, but I find that 'elitist' mentality laughable. You really had me giggling with your old man approach. I can easily see how this album is Ult's album of the year! It will crack my top 10 for certain. |

| I am behind, I have yet to hear these guys but I think it's about time. I almost bought the new album but a. I want to hear them first before I make the investment and b. I already completed my top list of the year and am more focused on getting older releases than newer ones at this time. When I do eventually hear it, I will come back to this topic at a later date (unless I find a used copy somewhere it will be a while). | |

| I think all you haters out there better recognize!!! :kickbutt: Anyways, I am really liking this album. The modern influences are not a hinderance do to the old school qualities overshadowing them. I also like the falsetto vocals which remind be a LOT of Guy Ritter (some would say King Diamond, but I always thought that Guy's voice had it's own "gen e say...I don't know" and the core vocals are of the variety I can tolerate. Knowing that the debut showcases the falsetto more makes me want to put it on my want list. | |
