From what I heard of Yngwie, you can count me among those that say it would not work well.

Yngwie's going to be much worse than old Jonjon, but at least Ripper is going in this time expecting to be used as a musical puppet. Surprised he didn't expect that in Iced Earth, but whatever.

I will say that this has definately got me interested in Yngwie Malmsteen again. I haven't purchased or heard anything by him in years, but I'm curious to hear this pairing.

How is singing in Iced Earth, Judas Priest & Yngwie's band not considered a "decent" gig?

He knows what he's doing w/ Yngwie. He'll make more money with Yngwie (his fee for the album plus his per-show fee for the tour) than he ever would releasing & touring a Beyond Fear album. He's putting money in the bank to help care for his family & afford him the time to do his own thing later, if he chooses.
