Uh, but all those above are UNblack bands. They are the total antipode to what black metal is. I think they should be called "extreme white metal" or something, but definitely not black metal. Not that I give a smurf poo for Black metal anyway. I find it equally unappealing, regardless if they praise Satan or Jesus.

I know Eyesore's ranting about using the search function is now standard, but it's a necessary evil.

Just look at the Airbourne thread, that thread was made like 9 months ago. It died but interest in the band has sparked up and its been resurrected and now that thread is thriving.

Actually it is not, I was holding the photo up and took a picture of it with my camera (I cropped out my hand though if you look to the bottom left you can see part of my index finger). Besides there is a lot more of me to be creeped out about than make-up I put on for Halloween fun. Like my obsession with... nevermind, you don't need to know about that. Lets just say that I am one of God's unusual prototypes, never considered for mass production.

if there are two threads about black metal, why don't the moderators simply merge them? isn't that what we keep them around for?

I tried to merge Eyesore and Spectrefate once. Actually, they were trying to merge, and I just happened to walk in the room on accident. It wasn't pretty.

I'm so glad you posted this. Because as I was writing my post, I thought, should I say unBlack? But I realized no matter what I put, someone like yourself would point out this obvious and pointless critique. If I called it unBlack, people would criticize that....and like you said, you don't care if it's praising Satan or Christ, so why then bring up the fact it's unBlack, if it's all the same? I don't feel like I need to spell that out here, people know me here, and know what I listen to, I don't need to dangle it in their face time after time. LONG LIVE UNBLACK, HAPPY?!

I think that the term black metal refers more to the musical style than the "lifestyle" and religious viewpoint of the artist. There are plenty of black metal bands that aren't anti-christian. If you couldn't call a christian black metal band such, then is the term christian death metal a faux pas as well?
