No, I actually like the continuity of a discussion. I mean, this being a discussion forum and all. Multiple posts on the same subject sucks the life out of a forum. This thread proves it.

I'm actually quite positive, which is why I continuously encourage people to use the search function. It make a forum a better place to talk music, or whatever the subject may be.

I will go ahead and post here even though I started the aforementioned topic (but please let's not make a habit out of this-one multiple thread is enough). I like some black metal and the ones I avoid most are the satanic ones although I'm not opposed to Viking or mythology themes. I tend to lean more towards the melodic ones or hybrid ones (most of them Christian):

Kekal
Bimmu Borgir (I only have a few songs of theirs-I have no interest in a whole album)
Crimson Moonlight
Holy Blood
Antestor
Drokknar (though the last one didn't do anything for me)
Exousia
Cronian
Extol (Undeceived)

I tried to get into Primordial (even got a double album-Imrama/Journey's End) but I just can't. I might give them another try but not anytime soon. I definatly want to get albums from Graveworm and Catamenia (the latter infinityly more so than the former).

I couldnt really give a crap what people think of black metal. I like the darkness of it. Yeah im 16 and dont know smurf poo about life but im still gonna live it the way i want to

I love it, just really started getting into it, i think it's awesome.

I listen to lots of black metal. Burzum easily makes my top 5 favourite musical artists, I have all his stuff, including the ambient stuff, it's all great. Varg's an amazing composer.

Have a lot of stuff from Mayhem, Darkthrone, Emperor and Graveland too.

The overall sound and vibe is awesome, the elements go together perfectly to form an incredibly dark sound. A lot of the earlier musicians (of the second wave) had an amazing knack for writing serious melodies.

As for first wave stuff, Venom rocks, everyone loves Venom. Bathory's cool, as is Celtic Frost and Hellhammer. Mercyful Fate are also one of my top five favourite bands, Melissa being probably my second favourite metal album (after W.A.S.P.'s The Crimson Idol).

So in short, yes, I like black metal.

Anyway, I like bits and pieces of black metal. Never hugely got into it, but sometimes it hits the spot. I'm more a fan of blackened stuff, like (I think) scottmitchell said on the last page. Finntroll, Moonsorrow, that kind of thing.
