| I was talking about this at the CMR as well.... I was listening to Retroactive Records' Myspace today and it hit me...
"they have an awesome roster of talent"
Right now Retroactive is right up there with SPV, Frontier, Sentinel Steel and Stormspell as my favorite labels.
Great! | |

| I have to agree, scott. Much like Intense was years ago. Great bands and they make high quality products and I support them whenever I can. |

| Me too! It's one of the RARE cases where I'll pay a little more because I want them to CONTINUE to pump out great stuff and great reissues. | |

| We are happy with them. They seem to be doing a good job of promoting Into the Pit, at least from what I can tell from the reviews I've seen thus far. There are several reviews on Amazon, CDBaby, iTunes, etc., which tells me someone is buying it.

The way the music business is going, soon the only way to get CDs from ANY label, ANYWHERE, will be online. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

Their distribution in the U.S. isn't much different. They rely on places like Amazon, Ebay, TheEndRecords, CenturyMedia, etc. They aren't really in the stores. _________________ ULTIMATUM - TOO METAL FOR WIKIPEDIA!

| I love retroactive, I'd like to see a little better online promotion. Overall they put out a great product. Now they need to get to work on that Oracle rerelease! | |

| Hey Rex, on the first banner, TITANIC is spelled wrong. Don't know if you can fix that or not.

| I have liked most of the re-releases so far. I think adding the bonus material that spread across various comps and such was a gret idea. I like even better that they sell them from the end at a nice price.. Alex _________________ | |

| I have been pleasantly surprised with Retroactive's catalog. They have some great bands on their roster. I agree with spectrefate's earlier comment about the comparison to Intense records - just really good music. I hope they can keep it up. I'm patiently waiting for the Ultimatum re-releases and the new Deliverance album. | |

| While strolling through my local Christian bookstore, I am amazed at all the Retroactive releases and re-issues (apart from them and BombWorks the other selections are pretty crappy). Thanks to their re-issues I have previously hard to find albums from Sacrament, Haven, Ultimatum, and Stairway and there are plenty more where that came from. | |

| DB, you must have a way hipper Christian bookstore than the one in my area. The place near me has got diddly-squat for Metal in their CD department. The only time I've ever come across anything even slightly metallic was when I lucked into a copy of Bride's SNAKES IN THE PLAYGROUND in their discount bin a few years back! _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

You just described my Christian stores here in Abilene. In Ft. Worth they have one (I don't remember the name) - but my wife was taking her LPC exam and I wandered into it and was shocked to see Retroactive and Bombworks cds in there. Might be the same chain DB is talking about.... | |

Might be the same chain DB is talking about.... In the late 80s/early 90s there was a GREAT family owned Christian store near me that was "the" place to get all the good CCM Metal of the day ... I couldn't tell ya how many tapes and later CDs I picked up there, but it's where I used to get all of my now-classic stuff (Deliverance, X-Sinner, Die Happy, Barren Cross, Rose, yadda yadda yadda) ... MAN, I made out like a bandit racking up those "buy 3, get 1 free" coupons that used to be on all the old Frontline Records releases (remember those?)...I used to use those coupons to check out CDs by bands that I hadn't heard before (figuring that if I didn't like'em, what the heck, they were free!)... those were the days! Unfortunately the store went out of business about ten years ago. I miss that place. _________________ "If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"
