Retroactive seems to be snapping up a lot of bands at the moment...

Quote :
RETROACTIVE RECORDS contiues to bring you the best the metal world has to offer with the signing of Christian metallers, BRIDE! Their new release is entitled TSAR BOMBA and will release in August 2009!
Troy (Thompson – guitars) and Dale have been writing songs for the past few months together. Back in 1985 when BRIDE first was formed Dale and Troy never imagined that the band would still be viable after over twenty years of music making. BRIDE has had incredible opportunities to write record and release songs world wide while also touring to support every release.

This 2009 project is a no hold barred when it comes to creativity and music making. This labor of love should take
the listener beyond any imaginative work BRIDE has ever done in the past and challenge the audio senses.

It is important concerning this work tentatively titled Tsar Bomba to capture the listener and to unpredictably throw them into the vat of “mechanosensation”.

Tsar Bomba simply means Mother Of All Bombs and was the largest most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated. It is important for this work to leave such an impact. Even though some would argue that a Christian CD should have nothing to do with such destruction, it is our belief that in this day and time a certain amount of destruction leads way to new growth and a fresh start.

Back with the Thompson brothers is drummer Jerry McBroom. It is only fitting that the most popular drummer in BRIDE's history rejoins them for the finale. G.W. Watts notoriously known for his Hong Kong sessions will be contributing bass guitar. Also returning will be guitar virtuoso Steve Osborne.

One of the most exciting aspects to the new work is the studio master Tim Bushong. Tim will be exercising all of his recording talents on the project.

Expect to hear raw rock, heavy metal, and all of the surprises that make you smile when you hear a BRIDE release.

Bride signed for a one album contract for Skin for Skin, and distribution contract for some reissues. The new album was suppose to be "fan financed" and self released. I guess that has changed.

Nah...Bride is still soliciting $20 donations from fans, which guarantees the fan an autographed CD when it's released, to go toward the recording of the album...

Depends. What was popular last year?

LOL!

Seriously though. The last few Bride albums have been pretty solid, straight forward hard rock/heavy metal.

So they probably signed a distribution deal with Retroactive/Brutal Planet.

Exactly. I had a Bride email in my mailbox this morning about the "fan financed" CD...for longstanding indie bands, it's actually not a bad idea.

I think they're going to tap into death/black metal side that they have yet to cover Very Happy. But like Ult said, probably what was popular last year, or maybe a few years back since it takes a while for them to catch up.

I look forward to hearing some samples of the new material, but will most likely not buy the new album itself. I loved the KF/SITP/SM albums best!

According to their website, Bride is hitting the studio in May 2013 to record a new album, named "Incorruptable".

These guys will never retire. They're like KISS. The last couple albums have been pretty good, so I'll definitely give the new one a listen.

Saw some recent pics of Dale on facebook. Dude is looking very old and out of shape.

So I just heard Tsar Bomba since the new album is coming out. Good God, that is shitty music. There is nothing redeeming about any of it. I hope the new album pulls away from that sound.

I know Bride has been a revolving door of genres, even more than Guardian, and I haven't really heard them since Scarecrow Messiah (which was oooookaaaaaay) but I don't even know what to call Tsar Bomba. There are times when Dale doesn't even seem to know which key the song is in.

We love worms here. Open up and say ahhhh!

I have yet to hear the new Bride. I'm read a lot of negative comments in the net though.
